In my town during the week days I always see the tinest women driving trucks on stilts or Carolina squats picking up/dropping off at school. Is this because hubby is driving the Altima to work?

I don't know if I already posted this but I sold my 3/4 ton diesel. The guy said this is going to be his wife's truck. He already had taken out a loan for the wheels and the lift kit he's putting on it. Hurts my soul, but cash helps

I've seen it too. I'm not sure if it's just the latest flavor of "lifestyle" vehicle purchase (maybe mall crawler Jeeps are out of fashion now?) or just female insecurity expressing itself by purchasing the closest thing to a road-legal tank that they can buy.

My wife wants the new Wagoneer and likes one she's seen with a 2 inch lift and mickey's. We live on a dirt road that gets washed out in monsoons, mind you, but her 2018 Jeep with A/Ts and no lift has never once had an issue with it.

Someone convince me that women actually enjoy cars. Every car show I've been to where it's the girlfriend's or the wife's car, there's always a man who butts in and explains all of the specs and the work gone into it. When I was looking at buying an MGB last year, the dude was very adamant that this was his wife's car. Even though it was in a barn under tarps, and her highlander was parked out front. My sister, my mom, my female friends, none of them seem to care all that much.

I'm pretty sure that women (99%) just want something new and clean. Like an appliance rather than a vehicle. If Keurig made a car...

There are women who actually like cars, though those are rare. By liking cars I mean being interested in the mechanical bits like gear ratios and piston rings, not just reciting hp numbers like many of the braindead goons on youtube who review cars.

If from a salty state, high potential for it to be a rust bucket. It's kinda obsolete now with cars like the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Sante Fe. If something larger is needed, the Honda Element is there for unibody pickups.

Eh i'm sure it can survive some southern heat and the slight desert. Probably just need to prep it honestly.

Nah, most of them have been automatic at least to my knowledge. Some have gone to 400,000 miles without the engine giving out so I might give it a shot when I move out. The 2007 Dodge Dakota has been an amazing truck for me but I need more leg room and seats for friends and luggage.

What's your budget? You could find a bigger SUV or body on frame Toyota for even more space.

I feel like a Baja might be too small. I've seen one in person and it's like a subcompact in the rear with a short bed.

Yeah i'll prob need to fit in one just to make sure i'm gonna make that kind of decision. However, if it's the right size then i'm gonna customize the hell out of that thing. Carbon fiber all around.

Alright fine, only new floormats, a wheel cover, and some seat covers. I'm still gonna make it look good the Shidoen way.

Does anyone have a recommenedation for a diesel? Preferably an IDI. I have the chance to either buy a 1989 Ford with a 7.3 IDI (~450,000 mi, used as a heavy duty truck for work), a Chevy LUV C223 a turbo diesel (~220k mi, bad fuel filter* and been sitting for 20+ years), or a 1991 Volvo with D24T (750k mi, with all maintenance logs).

*Car cranks but engine dies in a few seconds after.
