Cannabis and its health impacts - No stoner bros, smoking 50 joints a day will not cure your non-existant cancer.

By GMO you mean something that was bred over generations for qualities that are desirable. Genetic modification of plants isn't new and almost every crop you are familiar with has been genetically modified if that's what you mean. Or do you mean there's a Roundup Ready Girl Scout Cookies that I can get seeds from Monsanto for?

d00d i'm not addicted to weed i just have to do it every day in 45 minute intervals!

I'm not sure about that.
there are strains these days that have around 50% THC.
I don't think shit was as strong back before GMOs.
To the best of my knowledge GMO seeds are not commercially available as of yet and only really exist in labs and research. It is still very much in its early infancy. I know the Chinese are busy doing experiments with GMO seeds at the tradeport next to King Shaka Airport in South Africa but they are super secretive about what they are actually doing. I wouldn't put to much stock in seeds that claim over 30% THC unless they actually give you the breakdown of the genetics like Ace Seeds does. In my experience and the experience of the people I grow with THC% caps at about 30% with some extremely rare cases going up to nearly 35%. Trust me, when Growers Choice released their apparent 40% THC Oreoz line we all rushed out to get some only to be very disappointed. Below is the type of information you want to see if you want to purchase quality seeds that do exactly what the label advertises. There are also websites like Seedfinder where people will post the test results of strains so you can compare to what is being advertised

CHS is when you consume so much cannabis your body can no longer process it and your entire digestive system shuts down and you are left in agonizing pain until you are able to flush it all out. You are also left unable to consume cannabis ever again because the minute you do the symptoms come right back.
I actually know someone with this and while they definitely dont consume marijuana the same way they used to they can still smoke a little bit and not get the attacks.

Seen them happen though. Genuinely horrifying to behold its NOT a pretty sight at all. There would be dry heaving until there's blood coming out and the only thing that provided very temporary relief per their words were scalding-hot baths

I smoke daily. High paying job, family, house. Maybe those people would be losers either way and just like to blame weed.

You can't act like you're not an outlier though. How many acquaintances have you met from smoking through the years who went on to do absolutely nothing of note with their lives? I've shared a bowl with many a folk in my life, and not a ton of them amounted to shit. A lot of them are still living in the same towns they grew up in, working the same mediocre job they've always worked, and making ambition claims of goals that never come to fruition. Once I stopped smoking, my friend circle dried up almost completely and I realized that, aside from smoking weed and maybe taste in music, I had nothing in common or any shared interests with most of them. Nobody wants to hang out unless there's ganj involved somewhere in the equation.

I smoked pretty much every day I could from around the age of 20 to 32, and I can realistically look back and note the downsides. I eventually weened myself off of it because a.) I was spending an ever-increasing amount of money on weed and b.) I got tired of chasing The Weed Man around, getting ripped off, playing telephone tag, and driving all over God's green earth to nervously wait in a parking lot for an indeterminate amount of time (AND STILL GET SHORTED). While it was definitely nice for taking the edge off, it definitely made me lethargic and lean harder into my pretty bad habit of procrastination. While it's true you can't get truly "addicted" to weed in the textbook sense, smoking changes your brain chemistry over time and it fucks with your dopamine receptors. It's the same way people get addicted to food and end up as a 500lb deathfat, they enjoy how it makes them feel. I remember many a night scraping resin out of pipes and bowl pieces in a cold sweat waiting for the buzz of a text message. The longer I waited, the more irritated I'd become. It also kind of goes without saying that smoking anything isn't great for your lungs, period.

I'm not going to finger wag or directly talk down to the Kiwi stoners, you guys do you. As for me, it's not a habit I intend to pick back up. I save myself roughly $3,600 a year this way and I don't have to play silly weed man games anymore.

Man I quit smoking weed after a few years of using it while it was still illegal, but I started smoking again once it got legalized and it's way easier to consume responsibly when you don't have to deal with all the bullshit like dealing with a dealer or getting anxious when you hear a siren driving by.

Like I pretty much just smoke a little when I'm about to sleep these days, I don't like feeling mentally clouded by weed unless I'm trying to fall asleep. The time and energy you used to have to spend getting your hands on weed is freed up when you can just go to a store and buy some with no hassle.

Weed is illegal where I am and I've never smoked so much as a regular cigarette so I doubt I'd ever bother with it in that form even if it was made legal.

I do however smell it all over the place and it honestly smells like boiling cat piss. Stomach churning stuff. Frequent users absolutely fucking stink and you can pick them out from a mile away.

I'd maybe try an edible or whatever if it was made legal but I've heard that they can be a horrible experience even at the lowest dosage if you've never smoked before.

Breeding is not the same as GMO. As you say breeding is the attempt to transfer desired traits from one plant to another and it takes years and thousands of plants to possibly produce one strain. GMO is when you use gene editing tools to directly alter the plants DNA it achieve desired traits.

That's pretty interesting to hear. From what I've told by those who have had it that it was so awful that they won't prepared to test the "never smoke again" statement by the doctors. Do you roughly how much they were taking before they got CHS and how much they had to cut back to not get sick?

I don't think CRISPR is being used to create marijuana strains. Everyone that I knew who was into growing and breeding used classic methods, they would splice, clone, and pollinate. Even Monsanto with it's Roundup Ready products does most of the work the old fashioned way, then once they've identified a large enough batch of variants with the desired qualities to identify the genes they want to target. GMO that you're referring too isn't nearly as common as people think it is.. by all means tho, if I'm wrong and there is a Roundup Ready Alaskan Thunder, or Grape Ape, correct me.

I've been drinking like a fiend and smoking like a fish for twenty years plus but when I was in the hospital for getting hit by a car they said my livers were perfect and there was nothing in my lung when they x-rayed my arm, so either weed really cures everything or I have that caveman gene like Lemmy and Ozzy

I never touched that shit because back in high school this hardcore stoner chick told me that she hated Iron Maiden. I knew from that moment on that weed makes you retarded.
