TORONTO: Canada has removed Islamabad from the list of “avoid non-essential travel” cities.
The Global Affairs Department has revised the travel advisory for Pakistan by observing that there is decrease in risk level for Canadians to travel to Islamabad, says a press release received here today from Ottawa, Canada.
The High Commission of Pakistan had impressed upon the Canadian authorities to revise the advisory for Pakistan as the security situation in the whole country has improved significantly.
In the first step towards that direction, the Canadian government has informed us about excluding Islamabad from that category and further steps will be taken in the light of evolving security situation.

Travel advisory to Pakistan has been revised.
Canada on Thursday revised a travel advisory that they had implemented on Pakistan.
According to The News, the Canadian government removed Islamabad from their list of cities to "avoid non-essential travel" to. The government of Canada's website shows that Islamabad's status has been reduced to "Exercise a high degree of caution", the second lowest level. The High Commission of Canada in Pakistan also made a similar announcement on their Facebook page.
The travel advisories are split into four risk levels - (1) Exercise normal security precautions, (2) Exercise a high degree of caution, (3) Avoid non-essential travel, and (4) Avoid all travel.
Canada's global affairs department revised the travel advisory for Pakistan after observing that there has been a decrease in risk level for Canadians travelling to the Pakistani capital. The High Commission encouraged Canadian authorities to revise the advisory after the security situation across the country improved.
Canada has also said that further steps will be taken in light of the improving security situation in Pakistan.
