2 things, 1 I think is funny, 1 I think is grim.
I was modding Cyberpunk 2077 to play some additional radio stations. I found a site that let me find a list of radio stations that stream online because you need an mp3 file to make it work. I searched for Canada and oldies. Had the idea to name every channel Rewind because oldies in 2077. I find a NS, NB, Ontario, and Alberta stations. The 2 Maritime stations were both owned by Stingray so unsurprisingly they were playing the same songs. They even had the same talking points. But NB didn't stick to the same programing all the time. It wasn't always playing the same songs. (It's why It took me a while to realize. There was about a minute delay and I had been flipping through channels to find something I like.
You know how Canadian broadcasters have to put out Canadian content?
Nova Scotia - maybe every third or fourth song was a Canadian artist just about anyone would recognize - Rush, Tragically Hip, Alanis Morrisette, Bryan Adams, Tom Cochrane.
New Brunswick - Only really skipped Tragically Hip. Maybe 2 Canadian songs in the hour.
Ontario - Would play about one song an hour but they would announce before every Canadian - WE'RE ONLY DOING THIS BECAUSE WE HVE TO!
Alberta - LOL What's a Canadian artist?
Now like I said I was flipping through the channels a lot so I guess I could have missed something from Alberta but I spent hours hopping channels once I noticed.
You know Flock cameras as how everyone is getting up in arms about being tracked? Well yeah, those are visible. Guess what's coming to rural bumfuck Nov Scotia?
Well now you can pay 150 Euros to put a small device in your window and monitor your neighbors without them knowing! The information is publicly available by default and you have to go and shut it off if you want it to be private.
Personally I'd rather the giant fuckoff cameras you can at least try to avoid.
