Canada is basically three cities, with Toronto, Vancouver, and Calgary (not including Quebec in here). Every other city and all towns feed into these major cities like spiderwebs draining into some larger tarantula's lair- now filled to the brim with Indians, third worldists, etc.
You could pick other cities like Winnipeg to show replication of this phenomena at a smaller scale, but thats basically how Canada operates-
which is where we get to the problem with Canada- everything is too centralized because the country was literally built with resource extraction in mind, and when the center rots- theres nowhere to escape to.
It reminds me of how Russia is very centralized around Moscow and St. Petersburg. That's something I've never thought about before but makes total sense when thinking about it. In Canada you really only got a few decent areas in major cities and a few rural gems and that's about it.
If we get to Australia, it has similar issues to Canada- but at least its warmer and moving to the outback is a tolerable enough option. In Canada, its notoriously difficult to move further and further north, sans resources. Not a good country to be a bogan or a hobo in when you're finally exiled from Sydney, if your nuts are freezing off.
Even though Australia has many of the same problems as Canada, at least form a outsider perspective it isn't as bad or at least it has more potential to get better. Even ignoring the recent rise of One Nation, historically both Labour and Liberal-Nationals both have a chance of getting into office most election circles, so Aussies eventually hold their govs accountable no matter how long it takes.
I’m curious about how many snowbirds currently vote for the Liberals and NDP because I don’t know how isolated those communities are from the rest of America.
According to people I've talked to, yes, the vast majority of Cucknadians who move outside Canada still vote liberal or NDP, they escape socialism but still want more of it. Despite the stereotype of Canadians voting for dems in Amerikkka, it would be more funny to imagine them voting for socialist third parties because even a progressive dem like AOC is too "far right" for them. I'd assume they probably look down on Amerikkkans still...Despite living in Amerikkka, and this tracks with how many Amerikkkans learn how unpleasant many Cucknadians are.
Also, why would skilled Canadians stay in Canada when they can make 2-5X in the US with lower COL.
Ultimately I think it combines the ultra-nationalistic, arrogant mindset it seems the majority of Canadians have, with general media repeated hysteria
Assuming you could leave Canada to the States or even Europe, I think a combination of leaf ultranationalism and fear mongering/ostracization. The ultranationism part is easy to explain, "we are Canadians despite the entire world". This also plays into the ostracization part, pretty much "if you leave Canada you're a traitor!" Fear mongering through portraying the outside world (not even just amerikkka) as bigoted compared to how "progressive" Canada is. Many Canadians claim that the Democrats in Amerikkka are right wing, just not as far right as the GOP, and given how far left the average Canadians are, I think the dems are genuinely too right wing for the average leaf, as crazy as this might sound to the Amerikkkans who frequent this thread. Also keep in mind for many Canadians, ultranationalism is literally all they have.
Like some Canadians deadass talk about the outside world like North Korea does.
