Assuming Carney actually said this, you actually can't make this shit up, ONE day after. The jokes just write themselves at this point.

I've lost fucking everything. My mom just died, this house is mortgaged and gonna sell in THIS fucking economy and I'm staring down one of the worst job markets I've ever seen as a 33 year old with no education.

Is this what they want? For us to get crushed and have nothing?
Sorry to hear. Don't take MAID whatever you do.

If you do take MAID at least take out some of the people responsible.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Depending on the situation, it might be beneficial to look into becoming a landlord rather than selling. I had a friend in a similar situation once and she ended up renting two of the rooms to people so their rent payments covered the mortgage payments.

Canadian Farmers, I'd like to ask:
1) What you think of America's current racial awakening?
I mean, it's nice that half of you have decided to stop kowtowing and mouthing platitudes. But having learned how awful living around niggers is, it's staggering that it took you guys this long. Like a battered housewife finally leaving the brute.

2) What do you think of America's attempts to boot out illegals and beginning talks on remigrating "legal" ethnics?
More progress than anyone ever expected. And quite a few Wins people wanted were given the green light to juice the midterms; eg. cracking down on the truckers. But you guys better do everything possible to stay on top militarily or the money printer will stop going brrrr.

3) Do you have faith those efforts will succeed, be it slow-or-steady or sudden-and-forceful?
I'll believe it when White gangs become popular, and you find a way to deal with all the judges so people actually stay locked up. Nationally it should be slow-and-steady to avoid race riots. But the sudden efforts that clean a place up overnight (like DC) has astounded people with how much better it is living under law and order. Seeing is believing.

4) Do you have faith if you approve of these efforts that in time they'll spread to Canada?
Canadian tradition when they don't like something is just mass non-compliance, followed by the government backpedaling and claiming credit. We're forming ghettos rn. But I don't see it happening. We've hit critical mass and are going the UK route. We let too many migrants into the bureaucracy.

After being completely left out of negotiations for months, almost at the very end of the timeframe, and with literally no cards to play after being bullied for a year....Canada simply says "we want to extend the current trade deal except this time for 16 years with no annual review". 10/10 big pro business Carney move.

Is this guy an idiot? They literally haven't even been invited to discuss anything yet while the US and Mexico are making their own separate deals and met multiple times with multiple more scheduled, planning to present Canada with "take it or leave" plans, and literally don't seem to care at all about engaging with Canada who has just been sitting there going "erm, we're winning actually". Now with a month to review Canada comes with "but what if we just don't anything???". He can't even open his own completed bridge Canada paid billions for lmao. Oh but hey chinese EVs are here (that can't enter the states) so that's a win (actually kid I didn't want to go the US in the first place so actually I won, again)....

And in other very Canadian news, the fastest growing and new main sport is Cricket. For which they've just been suspended for being a front for the Indian gang that recently declared war on Canada lol

Cricket’s international governing body has suspended Canada over what it described as “serious breaches of its membership obligations”, dealing the latest blow to an organization that critics say has become a “laughing stock” within the sport.

The suspension also comes amid growing concerns that one of Canada’s fastest-growing sports is being influenced by members of a notorious gang that operates with impunity from an Indian prison cell.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) finalized the suspension at a meeting in Ahmedabad, India, on Sunday amid mounting concerns about the governance of Canada’s national cricket body. The decision follows the freezing of Cricket Canada’s funding in May after allegations that the organization lacked adequate governance systems and had failed to file audited financial statements.

In a statement, Cricket Canada’s new interim chief operating officer, Bhavjit Jauhar, said the ICC suspension was “unexpected” but that the organization won’t challenge the decision. Instead it “remains fully committed to meeting all compliance requirements”. Jauhar said an independent investigation will look into governance and financial controls.

In recent months, Canada’s cricket governing body has been the subject of explosive allegations from the Fifth Estate, CBC’s investigative unit. The show said its wide-ranging investigation found corruption, coercion, evidence of match-fixing and other misconduct within Cricket Canada.

In one instance, the national outlet flagged questionable promotions within the ranks of players and accusations from senior staff that members at the top of the organization were ordering elements of matches to be fixed. One member of the national team told CBC that certain players were meant to rise quickly through the ranks – including to the level of captain. Players received threats that they could be killed if they didn’t cooperate.

After the team’s captain made an error in the opening part of a game against New Zealand in February, he was questioned by the ICC’s anti-corruption unit for alleged match-fixing.

Reporting also suggests that allegations of corruption are tied to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, a transnational syndicate run from a Delhi prison cell.

Bishnoi has been linked to a number of killings and attempted assassinations in Canada. Police suspect members of the Bishnoi gang could be responsible for the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Sikh activist shot dead outside his temple in British Columbia. Bishnoi also ordered the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala, a Punjabi rapper with an international following, who was shot dead near his village in Punjab.

Canada’s federal government recently designated the gang a terrorist entity. Federal officials say the organization uses “murder, shootings and arson” to extort and intimidate diaspora communities – and has alleged links to India’s ruling government.

I wonder if they still play the anthem Oh, Canada...

I don't know whether it is naivety or incompetence. The second the trade shit started, we should have realized we are fucked. Even if USMCA stands we're fucked, because we fucked around, everyone else slid into America's metaphorical DMs and started making offers to edge Canada out of the US market.

Now chances are our strategy is the same as last time and attempt to run out the clock and hope the Dems save us. If the GOP does well in the midterms, then the US will kill it. Mexico has been negotiating with this in mind. Even if the Dems take a narrow lead in the house. Chances are they will kill it anyway. No one really likes NAFTA or USCMA or whatever they want to call it. Expecting US politicians to save us is so dumb, that it can only come from the small french addled minds of the Liberal party.

The Liberal Government is going to remove all the religious exemptions from the "hate speech laws"

That's right folks, if your local priest dares to criticize the WTFBBQ folks or Mudslimes in their preaching they can be reported to the RCMP and will have to face the Canadian Injustice System.

Is there any freedom of speech left for the Liberals to kill now? They've gutted everything.

Oh yah and the CBC gets a 1.5 billion dollar budget this year, despite having lower eyeball counts then the local news station. Oh well, it's only taxpayer money after all. Not like we can ever run out of that right, best to gobble up as much of it as we can before the real depression starts.

Anyway here's some boomer from the GTA talking about it

Ok sounds like somebody has some pretty low elbows. It's all part of the plan you just don't get it because you're not a business engineer like Carney. You're supposed to let the otherside rape you over a barrel. it doesn't matter that you have to sell everything you own to pay rent for someone else's house, and you'll never get a job, and you can't afford to eat and have no idea what savings are, and could never possibly support a child, and have to live at home until 87, because remember at the end of the day, orange man bad and you're Canadian *smug face*

“Sitting with Ambassador Greer in his office, we took the time to talk about specific issues … on which Canada can propose, we think, measures that should give the Americans a lot of comfort,” he said.

See, let them rape you then YOU have the power, right lady's??

Given that even the dems are suspicious of Canada's dealings with China. I doubt a dem amerikkka in 2028 (or earlier if they win hard in midterms) would be this amazing lifeline Canada thinks it would be.

Canada has no realpolitik sense at all, other countries in the Americas goes into negotiations with Amerikkka regardless of political beliefs or what happens during elections there. Yet Canada only would deal with a left wing Amerikkka, and even then it's a good chance they'll claim that even a progressive dem is "far right."

Regarding the second part, Canada is pretty consistent in their hatred of Amerikkka. Many other countries who hate each other still have basic economic deals with one another. I guess Canadians are at least consistent with their ultranationalism.

There was a lot of backdoor threats going on during the Trudeau era from Biden. it's why we started buying so much stuff from the Americans. The F-35, the P8 and loads of other shit. The convoy blockade of the bridge pissed the Americans right off and added to the push to end it. So it's safe to say both sides are pissed with Canada.

Yeah and as I mentioned in an other post on KF, "technical recession" sounds like "peaceful protests".
Yeah, donchakno it's just like the "technical" famine in Soviet Ukraine, or the "technical" atomic bombing of Hiroshima, or the "technical" Great Depression. If you put "technical" in front of whatever bad thing, Canadians will think it's not real and just some bureaucratic mumbo-jumbo of no importance.

I'm going to go with option "c" and say hubris. Something Canadians never seem to learn is that possessing advanced degrees from institutions like Havard and Oxford does not necessarily mean one has sound judgment, and in many case, can mean the exact opposite. Carney is just as arrogant as Trudeau with the same messianic complex, but is not nearly as theatrical. I suspect the reason why his personal approval is high despite accomplishing nothing is that he's simply too boring and monotone while Trudeau had an extremely punchable face.

The Liberals learned nothing from 2024. They manipulated the urban simpletons of Laurentia through fear and kept pushing on with the same arrogant attitude that nearly brought them to ruin a second time. Canadians have no idea of what's really coming and it's going to be hilarious when the bill comes due.

It's less his appearance and more the lack of fireworks right now. There's been no serious scandal or crisis forcing Carney into awkward choices and trying to justify them, which were the things ultimately sinking the Sock Boy over time (wasn't until after the trucker protest that Trudeau started getting reamed in the polls). We all know the economy is shit because we're living it, but the media is fully captured and won't criticize anything outside of the usual "blame the Orange Man", and since the current malaise doesn't impact boomers, there's less incentive for even the likes of Postmedia to make waves.

Sad reality is the people who would get Carney squirming are the ones who are (or think they are) financially secure, so it's far too easy for them to stick their head in the sand, ignore the oncoming economic train wreck, and keep their elbows up.

My parents are so confident in their situation that they plan to sell their acerage to buy a boat for doing something called “The Great Loop” off the east coast. I’m contemplating setting up a group chat with my siblings and going “1, 2, 3, not it!” When they inevitably need some place to live because they vastly underestimated the cost of living right now.
I’ve long given up on the prospect of an inheritance.
