I've been listening to a specific type of electronic music lately, not sure what it would be classified as... ambient future garage? Anyway, I had a playlist going on Spotify and artist after artist I checked the "About" portion and it showed the country with the most listens and it's ALWAYS Poland. Why is this?

Examples:

I could keep going because I went through a playlist of like 30 songs and top country for them all was Warsaw Poland. Is it because Poland is the only European country that is majority white?

Última edición:
I think this would be classified as like ambient broken beat so like a mix of two subgenres: drum and bass and ambient music... Which technically are subgenres of hip hop and Trance? Garage does fit it as a genre because that can be a combination of both subgenres but then garage can vary greatly. for example: UK garage is usually close to speed rap and techno whereas American garage was similar to what you're listening to, but more chaotic.

I'm not saying this to be an annoying old but the Hip Hop aspect of this music you like is definitely the modification the base of the music which is ambient. if you remove the broken beat stuff that's basically a Tycho/Haircuts for Men/Microblank album

drum and bass evolved out of jungle. Anyway, I still don't understand why the top country for this flavor of music is Poland.

No one likes jungle is kind of the joke there. (Groove)

It's funnier to pretend dnb existed just as hip hop backtracks, really bends purists out of shape.

But unfortunately the genre chill or chill music you might have seen on that one bands bandcamp page is unfortunately closer to any correct genre now because that's a brainrot term that gets used for that style of music.

90's "intelligent drum and bass" like Good Looking Records, PFM, Tayla, Big Bud etc was peak electronic music.

I've been to a Tycho concert in 2020, before the cough really started. I've never seen so many hipster looking people with gym bags as backpacks in one place before.
Concert was pretty chill though.

This would lie with the Barbershop beats crowd and also the House crowd.
See if any of these are the style that you're looking for:
Macroblank - Barbershop beats

Modest By Default - Barbershop beats

Vanilla - Chill Trance (don't really know the specific genre for this one)

Terry Da Libra - Progressive Melodic House

See if any of these hit the spot.

I like all the ones you posted and have listened to Microblank before.

Something that all the tracks I posted have in common is an atmospheric melancholic sound to them. I get a lot of good ideas from https://somafm.com/player/#/now-playing/fluid

Here's a couple more examples:

But honestly the main purpose of me making this thread is to ask why is this music most popular in Warsaw?

Seems like the current rendition/evolution of "chillstep". This will probably net you hours upon hours of mixes that tickle your fancy. I don't know why you want to listen to so much moaning, though.
