I remember reading this one night as a kid! I was so young I didn’t get that the two different styles represented two perspectives so I thought some kind of error happened with the printing and someone else’s comics got put in those panels. Boy was I retarded.

Can we talk about what the hell was up with some of Miss Wormwood’s lesson and project plans for first graders? Some bits are already a bit eyebrow raising, like teaching them about the Byzantine Empire. But the collection projects are particularly bad. Collecting and labeling 50 leaves? Collecting 50 bugs and naming them all scientifically? I’ve seen people say they’ve only had projects like that in high school or college, and she’s having a bunch of six year olds do that?
The insect collection project he has to do (where he completely forgets about it and tries to do it before school starts,) is something I don't think I could do as an adult, find and label 50 different insects. Bill Watterson has acknowledged that Calvin has assignments that are way too hard for 1st Grade, and just writes whatever he thinks is funny.
