In 33 years on God's green earth I have not once used anything other than the four basic operations of arithmetic (with the occasional expotentiation) outside of a classroom.
Calculate deez nuts, nerds.
Without a goal beyond solving the problem for the sake of the numbers, mathematics is a glorified autistic sandbox.
The lack of context drained my interest and I made a hard turn into sciences because at least there's purpose in it.

My boss recently "promoted" me to the hand manufacturing part of our division and now I have to bend steel bars into complicated shapes using the engineering blueprint. Until that point I never thought I'd use this shit ever again either but now I'm reliving my high school nightmares.
The page doesn't load correctly for me (no math symbols, options for some questions are missing, but from what I can understand, it looks like some kiddie shit.
By Russian standards, only polynomial division would be grade 9 (now grade 10 because of 4 years of primary school, eternal kindergarten, "we must raise qualified consoomers", fuck this shit) -- not HARD, mind you, just not learned until then (although math school students would make a correct guess about what it might mean), -- and the grain silo question would be likewise grade 9 10 IF you had to know the volume formulas because it's when stereometry starts.
But all of those are "did you go to school every once in a while" level, not "can you apply the knowledge" level. It's not something that can serve as the basis for picking college applicants, there'd be OVER 9000 applicants per slot.
I used to have to do a lot of geometry when I did CNC work. Not so much these days though. Now it's all superheat and subcool calculations or static pressures and air volume and shit like that.
Well I guess there's still a little bit of geometry. Like today, I only had a 4 3/4" holesaw but I needed to make a 5" inch hole through the side of a house. So I needed to make the hole bigger with the sawzall but I had to make it line up perfectly with the one I'd drilled and cut above it so when I shoved the 5" cylinder inside the circularish hole the square on the end of the cylinder was perfectly lined up with the square on the end of the other cylinder. See look at all those shapes and shit. Fucking geometry.
