Don't expect much people to try and troll Chris this time around, since he fits right in at BronyCon.
Chris actually was kinda hard to find amongst the 5000 or so people at BronyCon, and most of the time was just wandering around alone and didn't seem to be bothering anyone.I think some people actually had problems trying to find Chris. That says something about the attendance.
I don't know what happened in the autograph room since I didn't pay to get in. They were charging $20 for an autograph or photo. I wonder how much Chris spent on this.
A few people did subtly make fun of Chris though. The Battle Gem Ponies guy was giving a presentation and talking about how some game developers got in legal trouble for making characters too similar to copyrighted characters. Then he throws in a picture of Sonichu and says "maybe that's okay". Chris wasn't there to see it though. Also one of the vendors was doing an 'ask the doctor' type of thing. "Tell me about your OC" $5 for 5 minutes. Then below that he wrote, "$1 surcharge for Sonic OCs".
Chris wrote on twitter that he let a guy wash his car, gave him two dollars, and told him he just helped a celebrity.
How many fans does Chris think he has?
LOL, Chris gives money to beggars. In other news, Chris is a dumbass.
There were a lot of homeless people and beggars around. Some of them would approach cars and wash the windshield and then ask for money. I also saw many sleeping on the sidewalks around the convention center.
I don't know if it's just that there are a lot of beggars in Baltimore, or that the cops are reluctant to do anything about it. Baltimore police got a lot of shit over Freddie Gray, and may be reluctant to hassle the beggars for fear of getting complaints.
How big are the chances, that Chris will be thrown out because they won't let him use the gender neutral toilet?
There were several gender-neutral restrooms. They put 'gender neutral' signs over the original signs. I saw many transgender people at BronyCon, and Chris was not unusual in this regard.More likely that he will try and use the womens restroom if anything.
I'm more or less convinced of this. BronyCon staff is long inured to dealing with incredibly autistic behavior, and are mostly autists themselves, so they have some understanding of what works.
They've obviously learned how to deal with exceptional individuals and handle this pretty well.
There were many people working 'security' but just wearing BronyCon staff shirts. They weren't dressed like jerkops, but had a visible presence throughout the con. At a few of the bigger events there were bouncers wearing uniforms from a private security company, who were there to check that everyone entering had a badge.
I never saw anyone get kicked out. They were clearly prepared to do so if necessary, but just having 'official' people with a visible presence tends to keep things under control.
They also had a designated area for families with children, and kids-only events there, so parents had the option to keep their kids away from people like Chris.
Most of the interesting stuff was scheduled the first or second day, and I noticed that attendance seemed to drop off towards the end. That's true, I forget that they somehow have to stretch a whole 3 day con around a single mediocre cartoon. Gotta pad that shit out.
Attendance has been declining for the past couple years. They initially blamed it on being too early when it moved to Jul(a)y, but changing it back to August did not help.
The weather was shitty, it was hot and humid then raining, but I doubt that moving the date by a few weeks would make much difference. I suspect it's more that the popularity of MLP has run its course.
