UK British News Megathread - aka CWCissey's news thread

https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Absolutely thrilled the Palestine Action brats got their comeuppance. I can't understand why two of them were acquitted, given that they were all inside the factory smashing things, but I look forward to them feeling wracked with survivor's guilt for the next 5-8 years. And there are three related trials yet to come, just for the Filtonistas! Not even counting the Allianz ones, who are getting socked with a civil suit in addition to criminal!

Please let the PA proscription come back into force on Monday. The screams of rage would be heard from orbit.

Yes, boomers are such innocent angels who dindu nuffin, they just wanted pensions n shit. They are completely incapable of second order thought and can't possibly imagine how the policies they fight tooth and nail for will lead to infinite migration. They are the more sensible and rational generation after all.
It's pretty hard to know how bad immigrants are for the normie without:
1) Living near them. (Which obviously wasn't happening near the start)
2) Knowing how bad they are. (Government and basically every institution saying how GREAT migrants are)
3) Having a source of information showing how they live. (All we really had prior to the internet were some sanitised documentaries and personal accounts.)
Until somewhat recently, all the information was buried by the subversives in positions of power, and it was impossible to see what countries like India were really like. They've literally been hit by fucking generations of propaganda about how "racism is bad!" and "killing criminals is bad!" too. With the true advent of TV and MSM in their youths, they got hit by propaganda the likes the world had never fucking seen before, and they're still waking up now.
I think you're holding Boomers to too high a standard. You can't just demonize an entire fucking age generation, and it's retarded that for some reason it's become so politically acceptable to do so. Yes goy, blame your elders who we duped, not us, the dupers!

Spreading hatred for the elderly of your nation is such a fucking kike trick meant to erode away your own faith in your people so you accept the new order with less resistance. Don't be jealous of Keith and Debbie, be jealous and angry at John the Hotel Manager making bank housing a billion rapepakis from the third world, of the human rights lawyers ensuring he can continue to do so. Of the subversives and malevolent making up the support for such things.
Very few elderly people actually support the state of the United Kingdom, but what do you really want them to do? It's taken this long to get an actual serious alternative that is interested in the future for their family.
My liege... you said the special K word... I kneel...

I will hate boomers who's very existence requires low skilled workers to be imported on masse if you wanna know the truff about it, bish. Have you considered that John the hotel manager was born (in rural somerset) in 1963 and is actively benefitting off his government pension and his countless properties he lets out to young people who will never in their life be able to afford a home?

I don't know who said it, but "the longer these problems aren't fixed, the uglier the solutions get."
It's a close paraphrase of something Paul Ryan said in 2012. The original version comes from then-Rep. Paul Ryan (during the Romney-Ryan presidential campaign). In an interview, he stated:
“If you don’t address these issues now, they’re going to steamroll us as a country. And the issue is the more you delay fixing these problems, the much uglier the solutions are going to be.”
He was talking specifically about America’s long-term fiscal problems: entitlement spending, unfunded liabilities, and the growing national debt. He added that every year of delay added roughly $10 trillion to the hole of unfunded government promises.

I echo Nool's question: How are you doing in these trying times, Brits?

Signed,
a concerned Argentine

what is the mood in the uk? are normies talking about NI or is it not in public consciousness?
From England, and a few days ago, prior to the ireland stuff kicking off, I got into a taxi driven by a white guy, it was a guy who usually busses doctors to hospitals, and we eventually got into talking about politics because he very obviously wasn't happy about all the subcontinental retards with worthless third world university "degrees" that he needs to transport. After some brief power level probing, He went to talking about how we support Restore and Rupert, and he ended up talking about how he's ready to fight if neccessary and threw out a Roman.
Then he gave me 50% off the standard fare.

Suffice to say, IRL people in the street are fucking pissed off.
As for the actual NI stuff, my friends and normie family members are bringing it up unprompted, the genie is out of the bottle.

You speak to the average gammon in the pub (Redneck for you yanks) and they are outraged by it but realistically what is a fat 60 year old going to do about ever increasing government surveillance and anarcho-tyranny? Young people are very fed up with the state of things and are hoping Reform UK (essentially British MAGA) will do something about it. Not all hope is lost, the next elections are forecast to happen in 2029 but honestly I don't see the current government lasting another year. (search up Andy Burnham and the Makerfield By-election for more of the specifics)

I heard someone talking about it in the shop the other day, ranting away like only an old woman can.

There's marches here and there. One in Brighton today, which was well attended despite the fact it's basically Green central. People are angry. Angrier than I've seen since the 90s.

The way I see it, is that all this was so avoidable. The average person likely doesn't give a shit about one or two muhammadens or kebab shops (unlike some of us prime racists). It was the CONSTANT barrage of boat people and hotels and sexual assaults and rapes and pakis trashing the shire while the government and police said nuh-uh, covered it up, and refused to stop issuing borders or send the navy in. It was all so avoidable.

Sir Michael Ellis (?) said this morning that the MoD crisis was "unsurvivable" for Starmer, and now Burnham's come out and said he'll slash benefits to pay for defence. Government-Army relations must be fucking dire

Everyone's talking about it in one way or another. We've just had another stabbing near Burnley, too. A 17 year old girl stabbed in the neck by a guy who, to me, looks like he might be South Asian.

I think the most telling thing for the ongoing shift is the current uptick in right-wing gatherings and protests in Liverpool... something that seemed an impossibility before the Southport stabbings. Liverpool has been, since Thatcher's days, one of Labour's strongholds, as Thatcher was eager to turn Liverpool into Detroit/her response to and cover-up of the Hillsborough disaster. That looks set to change now, and goes to show that a lot of Liverpool's left-wing leanings were more a result of hatred for the Conservative party. Reform and Restore have given Scousers a right wing option that aren't the Tories.

Any collective "mood" is immaterial. If the Southport attack didn't lead to unceasing bloody retribution until something approaching revolution was achieved, nothing will. Sportsball was enough of a distraction to allow any momentum to fizzle out. The English still believe this can all be solved at the ballot box.

Big ""Anti-Racism"" protests in Brighton, Belfast, and Glasgow so far
Here's the Brighton live feed, trying to find one for Liverpool (because the one I was watching finished)

Doesn't look to be anything more than just angry people shouting but honestly, the more peaceful protests that require an incredible amount of police officers, the more pressure on the government.

EDIT: whoops, too late.

Imho Lord, the media and gov did the wrong thing with how they handled Ulster. Instead of chalking it up to normal shenanigans that take place monthly they built it up as some kind of CristalNacht but for niggers. All it's done is made everyone see how incompetent the RUC is and think that burning niggers out their homes is pretty based actually.

There'a definitely been a major shift over the past few weeks, the polis have lost all respect they ever had. People are realising the Government can't actually go Tiannamen Square on them no matter how much they say they can.

Largely the media has done its job and they think it's an unreasonable overreaction. Those who know more details about it aren't impressed but still are not too sympathetic to rioting.

In terms of mood I would say it’s dangerous to be an immigration lawyer right now. People have seen a successful method of dealing with the problem.
What we call normies are talking about the restore party who support forced deportation and the death penalty.

Personally I’ve had a lot of fun explaining to the enemy what happened in New Orleans during hurricane catrina.

Further proof that all these fucking groups are just kremlin operations. Just stop oil and palestine action are almost identical in character for a reason
The one time I might be willing to turn a blind eye to the government abusing all that power they shouldn't have and smash those retard hives up and they can't even manage that. Fucking government can't do anything right.

Unrelated but can we just do away with the whole leftwing/rightwing thing? It gets confusing sometimes and just doesn't really seem that relevant any more. We could do smarties and spackers instead.
