A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.


But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

If they aren’t careful “I don’t think you are, mate” or something similar will go down in history the same way “Let them eat cake” did.
 
None of what is going on is "whipping up division". The division is already there and has existed for decades. All that is happening is people are now seeing it and seeing where it's got us, which is an innocent white young man murdered, aided and abetted by the police.

It's been going on for years,and they are pissed off people are noticing it

TikTok has been removing videos of Nowak's murder and the bodycam footage.

OSINTfag 'WarMonitor' has allegedly received a tip off about Southampton police (X). Take with grain of salt, but he usually gets good tip offs from airplane spergs about Uki stuff.
An informed source has told me that British police are mobilising a large force for expected unrest today around Southampton Police Station as public anger is growing at the unjust killing of Henry Nowak.

Honestly this whole thing has made me sad in a way I can't articulate. The difference between Nowak and his murderer couldn't be more vast. One was a law abiding student, beloved by his family. The other was a knife obsessed nutjob, about whom there were concerns within his community (concerns which, I might add, were brushed under the carpet and hidden).

The latter attacked someone and lied, pulling the race card, which is what all browns will do when caught out, and race traitor police officers sided with the man with the knife.

I was off shift this morning and up early so I went to Mass. What has happened is so offensive and wrong and at every stage, we're being told we are wrong for noticing and asking questions.

The questions being raised are so long overdue and have been stifled and repressed by non-native invaders whose beliefs are anathema to ours,who have no desire or will to do anything other than come here and ream the benefits system.

Millions must go. And that will be hard in the short to medium term because we will have to adjust, but it is not impossible. It is the only thing that will ensure the safety of the people native to this land,whether by birth or by common ethnic or cultural values (white and Christian).

If the poles must go too,then fine. But above all, Nowak was white and he was murdered by a brown person because of his skin colour.
