UK British News Megathread - aka CWCissey's news thread

https://news.sky.com/story/row-over-new-greggs-vegan-sausage-rolls-heats-up-11597679 (https://archive.ph/5Ba6o)

A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Honestly, if it is at the obvious conclusion of foreigner x is fighting foreigner y, just let them kill each other. It will undoubtedly save 1000s in taxpayer money. We should encourage it honestly.
Except the Iranian woman brought her two children with her, so now they'll be the responsibility of the state and paid for with taxpayer money.

The BBC would like you to know that the reason we currently have police responding to riots at beaches in the heat wave is because socio economic factors and mental health problems from covid. With very select footage of a cooper shoving a white kid. No actual mention of the people doing it. It's just "bored kids", while they weaponize the unemployment study that just came out. It's not wogs fault they're criminals, it's the lack of jobs making them criminal! That's why we need 100+ coppers all standing in a row like it's a race riot. It's the economy making third worlders try to swarm white women in their swim wear!

I'm not sure if it's the heat or some unrelated phenomenon, but I've been visited by dragonflies quite a lot over the past week. I don't normally see them that often.
We never get those around here. I'm hoping, when I get my pond in next year, that they'll start turning up, but I suspect it's just not quite warm enough this far north.

Irish news has been fucking shocking. A woman was found with her throat slit behind a migrant hotel.
I don't think 'throat slit' quite covers it. Throat slit, at least, implies a reasonably quick death. Word from locals is that he completely savaged her, and that she was at least partially beheaded, and possibly otherwise dismembered before death. She'd have been safer and more free of Islam living under the Islamic Republic in Iran than she was in rural Ireland.

Meanwhile, Gerry fucking Adams has organised a March for Justice today at 2pm. For this woman? Nope. For Alex Coughlan, the Irish man murdered two weeks ago by two young muslim men? Also Nope. It's for Yves Sakila, the drug addled perfume thief and breaker of elderly men's hips, who may have (but probably wasn't) killed by the actions of a non-Irish security guard. #justiceforyves

Voodoo ritual or just violent foreigner? Who can tell.

Adding wog powders to your food is pajeet behaviour. Get good quality meat and you don't need to add mushroom powder to make it taste good. Get the barbecue out and grill some meat on it. Fucking Americanized food, where the Mexicans demand 15 different powders and sauces on everything.

Sinn Fein have totally lost their way. Someone said earlier in the thread that it stems from Ireland being bullied by the English, so the Irish tend to side with the underdog. At this point it’s to their own detriment and I have no idea why anyone is going along with it from a nationalist party. Especially a left-wing nationalist party.

Changing the subject to food, vote #2 for Aromat seasoning. That stuff is wonderful in so many savoury dishes. It’s just perfect for all-round flavour and goes in pretty much anything where you’d usually add salt.

All nationalist parties are globalist fronts scamming their own countries.

@Heinrich Maneuver Wasn't a Nero, was it? I used to go to one in the nearest city to me pre-jeetification, the coffee was tolerable, I saw an all jeet staff, and went to the nearest Starbucks. One place I will say is shocking now is UK Tim Hortons, the quality used to be amazing, but I bought food not realising all jeets, and it was diabolical.
No lol it was Blank Street, very trendy tik-toky brooklyn cafe chain with extremely cliquey staff.
The Bham Tim Hortons has a 1 star rating and is all jeets however. There's mice crawling all over the shop. The landlord seized the weird Indian-Mexican restaurant next to it somehow. All the fuckin indian run stores are beyond dodgy.

'Britain First' (political party? I've no idea) will be hosting a Remigration rally in Birmingham June 20th (X) Official website (X) I will not be attending to document as if this is approved to go ahead I will be extremely concerned about safety in town (especially after what happened during the Southport protests here) but I will keep an eye out for documentary purposes, especially given how Bham police were during the Tel Aviv match. The Iranian monarchists still protest/celebrate/dance outside town hall every Sunday.

On a personal level sure, your average citizen has a tendency to sympathise with colonised people to probably a greater degree than people who don't have a similar history. But MSM opinion polls show 4% of the public care about Israel/Gaza, for example, no-one else really cares. And while I know polls can be bollocks, if their findings are at odds with the agenda of the company publishing them, they probably are reasonably true.

Nationalist background is a fraction of what's happening with modern Sinn Fein. The 90s Peace Process was Bill Clinton's baby, and following on from it, Sinn Fein became balls deep in the Clinton Global Initiative. The leadership and rising stars of the party get trained to follow globalist policy and the party has already peaked because of it. They had a huge surge in 2020 that they hadn't run enough candidates to take advantage of, but have been slipping since as their agenda now is just identity politics and Gaza. Though obviously they have failed to conclude that this kind of stunt, is making them lose popularity.

Edited as I left half the bottom paragraph off.

From Lowe, seems like your version of Miller. Otherwise, what does he mean by the inquiry?

I want to be really clear in my response. I am not going to retract anything, I stand by every single word. Labour are calling for me to apologise. The answer is no.
︀︀
︀︀Industrial rape across almost every town and city in Britain.
︀︀
︀︀Sexual torture. Murder. Endless rape.
︀︀
︀︀I sat there for two weeks, listening to these girls.
︀︀
︀︀I heard how one girl was raped by a dog, as Muslim men bet on what the animal would do.
︀︀
︀︀Girls drugged and locked in cages, like rats.
︀︀
︀︀Another, raped by 700 men over three years.
︀︀
︀︀Dozens and dozens of these stories through our inquiry, and we are barely scratching the surface.
︀︀
︀︀This was allowed to happen EXACTLY because politicians were cowards, refusing to discuss it.
︀︀
︀︀I will not make that same mistake. I said what I said, and I meant it.
︀︀…

what does he mean by the inquiry?
He funded an independent inquiry into the rape gangs after Reform and the Tories both refused to commit to one (thread here, though it's become more of a restore/lowe general now). It's partially what forced the government to begin their own, though they're still slow-walking that one in the hope it will all go away.

The inquiry will be getting a debate on Monday at 4;30pm as well, every MP has gotten a letter asking them to attend.

oh yes I forgot to post this, Reform's new branding!
