I only had a problem with one major section of the movie, the 20 min Mexican gang chase that lead to the strip club. In a world supposedly full of fantasy creatures, they only used humans.

Turns out, the Mexicans were the real monsters all along.

It was fun, like a buddy cop movie in the Shadowrun universe.

This. When I saw the shots I was thinking when the hell they made a goddamn Shadowrun movie.

Didn't know it was penned by Landis though. Was supposed to have a viewing of it with my gf at her house on New Year's. Now I don't know what to think

Saw it with the family. They had mixed to positive reactions to it. I was mostly interested in it for the fantasy stuff, but I found it a serviceable Will Smith vehicle. I've heard rumors that he agreed to do this movie in exchange for Neo Yokio getting released on Netflix.

I was actually looking forward to Bright a tad.

I used to read a comic back in the day that had a similar setting called Poison Elves.

It wasn't always the best drawn comic but I remember enjoying its fantasy meets technology world.

It was better than I expected, I also love how they worked in the trope of talk shows discussing in universe stuff but it was on the JRE podcast instead.
