Telegram and Signal are centralized at best and compromised at worst. Much like Parler. Briar / Session are both open source and can be downloaded from their websites as an APK file, completely eradicating the need for Google Playstore censorship.


 
Fdroid is a better way to download apps and update.

The real question that has to be asked is why haven't every single one of these Internet culture warriors haven't hoped on Briar at the very least and try make it go viral.
