Chicken and sausage gumbo is quite good, I make a big pot four or five times a year. You don't use chicken sausage, you use pork andouille and a little tasso for kick, and chicken breast browned and cut. Some people cube the chicken, some people just put in chunks and let it separate as it simmers.

I bet Johnny only simmered his gumbo for an hour or so, that's why it's so thin. Did he even make a roux? The jumbo shrimp is a retarded touch. If anything, you should use a ton of mini-shrimp, not jumbo. And he definitely fucked up the okra. TBF, lots of people fuck up the okra. It looks like he put way too much in, and he probably boiled instead of simmered.

He made a Roux, but he used oil because even that required too high a level of competence.

He is using a recipe from the NYT. I have not seen it but I promise you it does not have a roux because that would take a little skill and practice; it takes practice and a little bit of focused attention to get right, especially for a darker roux. The bored Karens that NYT recipe section is targeted at don't have the time or inclination to git gud at anything like that, so instead they use oil and god knows what else.

I have to agree with John on that one. Given his understanding of motor vehicles, him riding in a parking lot is an extreme risk

4 Things Democrats can do to delay the Supreme Court vote.
  1. Demand "Unanimous Consent" for every Senate vote until Nov 30th.
  2. Use the Democratic Majority in the House to block Important Legislation.
  3. Flood the Senate with Impeachment Hearings until the Election.
  4. Expand the Supreme Court with New Justices when Biden wins the Presidency.
Let us ignore that number 4 isn't delaying anything and only happens after everything is already done...

I'm not sure how they're going to demand Unanimous Consent to slow things down until November when Republicans are the majority in the Senate. Even if the two Independents side with them, can't the Republicans just go "lolno" and decline?

Taking important legislation (Cenk mentions Debt Ceiling and Budget) hostage is something I can see happening. But if it starts impacting people's lives, Trump can point at the House and put all the blame on the Democrats for whatever is happening. Didn't this already happen with the Government Shutdown before and the Dems were starting to get heat from it?

DO IT. JUST DO IT. Please flood the Senate with Impeachment Hearings. Make it the biggest circus for everyone to see. I'm sure using Impeachment again as a naked partisan power trip won't rile up Trump's voters to go out and give you the biggest middle finger possible come election day.

So out of the FOUR PRAGMATIC AND ACHIEVABLE THINGS to stop the nomination: one is after the nomination and not stopping anything, one I don't think they can realistically do, one can happen but can backfire if done for too long and one is all but certain to benefit Trump's numbers.
