I'd need to see the experiment, but unless they had four groups of cows (one painted black, one painted white, one unpainted, one striped) it wouldn't be very rigorous since the flies could merely be avoiding the paint.
Biting flies are an issue everywhere there are large mammals, it seems odd that they only developed stripes in Africa. Granted Tsetse flies would put a bit more pressure for change on a critter.

John you ignorant fuck. The HRC was founded as a gay & lesbian rights org. Their focus was on raising campaign money for politicians who openly supported LGB rights and would push for anti-discrimination policies at the state and federal level. They also worked to defeat idiots like Jesse Helms who were actively opposing bills that would provide federal funding for AIDS research and treatment.

If anything the HRC was a relative latecomer to the gay marriage issue. They had no hand in Baehr v Lewin, one of the earlier challenges to states prohibiting same-sex marriage. HRC didn’t really even show up to the debate until after DOMA was passed in 1996.

No one demands the ASPCA build low-income housing for pet owners. That’s not their mission. The HRC wasn’t focused on troons because troons had fuck all to do with the first two decades of work done by the HRC. It wasn’t until the muckety-muck money men saw that they needed a new cause (once they knew Obergefell would pas) that y’all got to hijack the org.
