Real Red Sox fans don't point the finger at anyone about politics, race or political correctness.
For 44 years -- a record span -- Tom Yawkey, the biggest racist in the major leagues, was the sole owner of the Red Sox. (Bush owned 11 percent of the Rangers for about ten years, apparently tainting the team for all eternity.)
Some evidence:
The Red Sox were the very last team in the majors to integrate, only finally hiring a black player, Elijah Jerry "Pumpsie" Green, in 1959 — 12 years after Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier with the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Sox front office was notorious for racism, even spewing the n-word, as many fans were reputed to do as well. The ugly history made it all the more painful last summer at Fenway, when Orioles center fielder Adam Jones said a Sox fan hurled the n-word at him, along with a bag of peanuts.
The fact that Mississippi John, a notorious racist himself, claims to love the Sox proves that the team is still a magnet for those like John who hate -- and refuse to hire -- black people.

Harvey Weinstein is a creep who abused his power to have sexual contact with young women. This doesn't change the fact that the man knew how to pick good scripts and pair them with the right talent. Roman Polanski had a thing for young girls, that doesn't change the nigga's ability to stage shots. It is possible to separate the artist from their craft, when the artist isn't trying to make their craft about that aspect of themselves.
John would know this, except that 1) He and his ilk can't help from trying to cram their fetishes and personal politics into everything, and can't fathom someone not doing the same and 2) He's not good anything, so people don't need to dislike his politics to dislike the one shitty game he underpaid a bunch of dangerhairs to put out.

Just like how a friend of mine have a really hard time reading a book written in the 30's taking place in, and using the vernacular, of the 1860's. Nigger is what I'm saying.
Growing up in the 80's it wasn't uncommon for people to throw burger trash out the window while driving, if I wrote that in a book I'm not an enabler or accomplice in present day littering or crimes against the environment, it's just a window into that time and mindset.
