China will never really cut all ties with DPRK (minus Kim literally starting a war) because there is almost nothing China fears more than the destabilization of Pyongyang which would have to be followed either by Chinese occupation of some sort or a US-friendly united Korea. As long as North Korea's leader is content to exist as a garbage fire of a country- but with nukes- there's really no realistic solution to stop them. China will give them just enough support to stop them from imploding.

The problem is that Wu, while happy to point out all the problems with various ineffective or impractical options, has nothing constructive to add (as usual). Wu talks about needing to 'work unilaterally with NATO and the UN' blah blah blah. It's literally the same shit that has been tried for half a century and it will continue the fail for the simple reason that North Korea is willing to do pretty much anything to keep its nukes and we're not willing to do everything (i.e. lose Seoul and Tokyo and risk war with China again) to get rid of them.

I see almost nothing in Wu's tweeting history about Korea before this flare up so either he's becoming an 'expert' at something else he's never known anything about or he deleted his previous tweets on the subject. Although he did say, about a month ago, that we need to worry about global warming before North Korea.

Btw. although Steven King isn't known for setting many of his stories in Massachusetts, H.P. Lovecraft is. As someone with a serious case of the Innsmouth look, Wu should know something like that.
