John's latest headmate: a straight white man who somehow did not die in the Gulf War. Thanks for the fucking stupid essay John, although you have absolutely no influence whatsoever, it's exactly your point of view that has permanently flushed mainstream journalism down the toilet for all eternity. Good work on that one you tard.

I bet that the "not the smartest" straight, white journalist knows the correct American English spelling of the incredibly difficult word ax.

Does Flynt/Wu ever criticize someone's intelligence without unintentionally making it clear that he's a lot dumber than his victim?

Tech business analyst John Flynt weighs in on the next wave of startups attempting to go public. Solid work as always, John, your vast experience with Final Fantasy brings a wealth of profundity to the discussion. Fuck you.

The hell it will.

The more you read Wu's tweets, the more she sounds like what she actually is: A 40-year-old man having a mid-life crisis who tries to be hip with with the 'young people'.
"How can I make young people vote for me? What do they normally do? Oh I know! These days they are all snapchatting their Uber-rides on Instagram, or something. Let's tweet about that."
The hell it will.

Do you really think it is beneath Wu to rent out an entire theater with her free campaign money, in full knowledge that no one will show up and she and Frank can have their private show?

It's not going to happen. She'll never mention it again and we'll get a tweet from her outside the cinema heaping praise on it because she's incapable of having an original thought.

Brianna does nothing outside a controlled environment. No fucking way she's going to open herself to a whole room of people like that.
At most we'll get a tweet some time in the future where she claims she went through with the theatre rental and met some amazing people who imparted their wisdom/obedience on our second favourite troon.

Easy, just send those tickets on short notice to people, who already donated to your campaign. 99% of those are living half way through the country. No one will actually drive for hours or board a plane, just to sit in a cinema with Brianna Wu, if they also could see the movie a in their local theater with friends.

If anything, two people will show up at max, and those people are pro Wu and she already suckered them out of their cash. If you really want to be sure no one shows up, just claim it was a raffle and simply don't send any tickets out. The chances of Wu's donators figuring out she didn't sent them out are practically zero, and if they do just claim it was a mistake and someone in your team fucked up.

Add: But I wouldn't be surprised if this is too much effort for Wu.

Political commentary via a mainstream work of fantasy, you don't say John!!

This monomaniacal fuckhead clearly has no knowledge whatsoever of the environment in which Star Wars was originally released or what the circumstances of its enormous popularity in the late '70s was. Which is to say that after over a decade of overtly antiestablishment, antiheroic, grim, dystopian, gritty, nasty, generally unpleasant, and yes, overtly political films, the arrival of a cheerfully unrealistic escapist fantasy was greeted with hosannas from both general audiences and critics. Time magazine called it "The Return of Entertainment!" Harlan Ellison got very grumpy about it. Parents were delighted to have a gargantuan hit they could enjoy and bring their children to. All this "Star Wars was always political" garbage is ex post facto justification for peabrains like John to pretend it's a movie worth subjecting to the analysis of their own personal bugbears.

It had nothing to do with the fact that George Lucas was a rich white guy.
Also the fact that they filmed in the UK which is where nearly all the Imperial actors were drawn from. England is 87% white at the moment and that figure was probably higher in 1977.

I mean, the Empire was partially based on the Nazis, but that's less a political statement and more because Nazism is a political ideology that's easy to recognise as bad, so lends itself well to things like fantasy villains.

But it's the Rebels who get a scene directly ripped off from Triumph of the Will. Which makes me think Lucas was less about politics than he was about imagery.

Also hate to tell you this John, but in general discrimination based on gender is against the law when hiring people. You may want to get some of your """""buddies from law school"""""" to look into that one.

John, Fangoria is not a "fashion magazine."

"IF YOU ARE A WOMAN"

One would think that Brianna's "campaign" would make an effort to avoid making as many typos and grammatical mistakes as they do. But then, that would require her phantom staff to actually exist.

Looking forward to that email! It'll be, what, the third ever message that she and Frank have sent out?
