Nah, the whole thing that made me decide to actually stop lurking and start posting here was because Wu put some of her stupid spin on one of Heinlein's books. My very first post, way back in Wu's first thread was a very long winded (and likely unnecessary) explanation of how I thought Wu associating anything she did with him to be ridiculous.

Also, the emphasis on the militarization of space is such a non-issue, Brianna's super space rocks or otherwise. There are treaties in place to avoid that happening, mainly the SPT, and any attempts to breach it would be more than likely to draw a few eyes, given it's often discussed in the same breath as arms control and anti-proliferation measures.

Brianna's idea of someone "Throwing rocks at the earth from the moon" most likely came from "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" by Robert Heinlein. In that story, a moon colony rebels against Earth's control, and their main (and only) weapon is a mass driver which was used to deliver mined ore to earth's oceans which they repurpose to threaten to drop said ore on earth's cities.

This latest moon comment is just utterly fucking ridiculous though (there's a joke in there somewhere about John not being able to get his rocks off any more due to no balls and so needing to "drop" them off the moon instead). Apologies if I missed this earlier but below is the deleted tweet. "Multiplies the kinetic energy". Fucking amazing ignorance of basic mechanics from someone claiming to be an engineer.

It's really cute how Wu directed this to try and create the impression that he has a campaign: "Ok, i'll sit in front of a salad and nod while scribbling on a legal pad!" Looks as though the local news listened to Wu in terms of how to report the story, because we once again get the same angles from GooberGrape of John in front of the "Work Station", complete with grotty desk and Rev 60 posters, that he's so proud of.

I'll say this: Wu is starting to resemble late-stage Ed Wood, more like a failed Transvestite, in terms of granny-looking Troonity. It's rather horrifying. Also funny how Wu towers over the policeman. What a Wuman!

Lmfao, colonizing the Moon and using its rocks to destroy cities on Earth is some cartoon supervillain shit. Like, I can think of several anime/video game/comic book series that feature a similar plot.

In order to cause any significant damage, a meteor has to be really fucking big. For example, scientists widely agree that the meteor that triggered the mass extinction of the dinosaurs was 10 kilometers (roughly 6.2 miles) across. Now, meteors that just need to destroy cities don't need to be that big, but still. There aren't kilometer-long rocks just lying around on the Moon.

In the spirit of giving credit where it's due, Wu really does read and enjoy Heinlein. Or at least did at one time. To the degree that she's admitted Holiday, the protagonist of Rev60 is directly inspired by "Friday." This is understandable, lots of young men like Heinlein. They've got cool guys, randy omnisexual women, and right wing themes painted as cool and workable. She tried to softly backpeddle quite a while back, claiming that Heinlein's old-timey sexism was harmless and mostly charming, but then she stopped bringing it up - the way Wu usually does when she enjoys something not condoned by the mob.
