I don't know about flywheels, but they do make motorized Nerf guns now, and modding them to increase fire rate/distance via mucking with the voltages and whatnot is a thing in the... er... "Nerf community." Though with Wu's farce of a foray into building a PC, I'm skeptical as to whether he personally performed any such Nerf mods.

The only electronic components that the Stryfe actually has are two shitty fucking motors that spin plastic 'wheels' like a pitching machine would.
Everything is good old fashioned plastic and standard dart feed.

Not to mention that the vast majority of those that mod NERF knows that your electronics are you limiting factor, especially with this style feed where the lost speed means 'rapid' fire is not as consistent in the long run. Used to do an autistic nerf wars thing back in college, your conventional air mods were by far the most effective of mods.
