In theory, under perfect conditions, yes motorcycles can be very fast. The problem is it's extremely difficult to launch them properly. Even the best riders have difficulties with this, while with most modern cars you just slam the pedal and go. Most of the time the person riding the bike will give it too much gas, the bike will wheelie and go out of control. But I'm sure Street Racer John knows all about that.

3) Thinks it is some kind of revelation that bikes tend to accelerate faster then cars.

Conclusion:

I do believe though, Wu being such a motorcycle enthusiast, plus with her experience as an engineer, she would know exactly how to create a supersonic motorcycle. I think in fact, judging by how aerodynamic she is as well, she would be the ideal candidate to try and beat the land speed record for motorcycles. This is not true even if you limit the race to three seconds or to just the zero-to-60 times. There are quite a few street-legal cars that can do zero to 60 in under three seconds; and there are quite a few sport bikes that can't.

In a two-minute Google search, here are the fastest zero-to-60 times I could find for street-legal cars and motorcycles. The Porsche 918 Spyder can do zero to 60 in 2.2 seconds; the Suzuki GSX-R1000 does the same in 2.35 seconds.
