As far as them being bigoted, I sincerely doubt they're as awful as John says, them supposedly being shitty parents is just a grab for ass pats and oppression points.

Shitty parents don't give their loser son hundreds of thousands of dollars despite him failing to graduate even a liberal arts education in over a decade and wasting hundreds of thousands on another career. It's John who is the shitty one.

Without a doubt, what'd John blow, like half a mil, all said and done???

I had a quick glance at the #mapoli hashtag today to see if anyone gave a shit about Wu (spoiler: they don't) and I came across this guy who presents an instructive comparison with Wu. First time candidate for the House, but with all the right qualifications - worked in local politics for the Mayor's office, established Democratic party credentials by working for the Huffington post. Apparently he's raised over 800K bucks in his first month at this game. Look at him, all shiny and clean, not looking like an escaped lunatic when he smiles. He's out there talking to voters, knocking on doors, getting signatures. Wu is at home playing SNES.

It occurred to me then a huge thing that's missing from Wu's campaign expenses. Nowhere has she paid to acquire a database of District 8 voter information. You'd think that'd be like item zero on the checklist, know who your constituency are. I wonder if it just hasn't occurred to her that she might need to actually talk to these people some day, and send them mailings, or whether she really just has no intention of doing any of the things real politicians have to do, because it interferes with her agenda of cosplaying a serious politician?

$200,000-plus for Socially Unconscious. Ten years of college, including tuition, fees, books, room and board, a vehicle, and -- knowing Flynt/Wu -- a not inconsiderable allowance spent on drugs and partying. Plus in-patient treatment at a private clinic for his addiction. Plus the cost of his living -- including drugs and partying -- in D.C. during his unpaid internship for Trent Lott.

I'd guess that the total shelled out by his hateful parents could easily be north of $800,000.

It's all the more surprising since John actually was a low-level staffer for a senator. Of all people, he should know how much envelope stuffing, phone banking, sign posting, and donor asspatting goes into sustaining the life cycle of Homo politicus. Has that all just retreated behind the Ambien haze for him? You'd think he'd wonder at some point "Hey, all that campaign-y stuff I did for Trent Lott, who's doing that for me?"

Despite it being pointed out to her several times, including by people who support her, she still calls MA a "city" on her campaign site. So not only has she not added anything of merit to her flimsy "platform;" she likely has not touched her own campaign website since getting it online. https://briannawu2018.com/platform/

Has a single dime gone toward actually trying to get votes? As you mentioned, she hasn't paid for a database of voters in the district. I see no mention of a mailing to let people in the area know she's running. There haven't been any meet-and-greets. No purchase of lawn-signs, bumper stickers, buttons, etc to pass out in the area. She hasn't hired people to get signatures or help run the campaign. I'm guessing FEC rules are pretty loose on this stuff but don't you have to at least sort of pretend you're trying to get people to vote for you?

The only expense I see that could constitute an effort to get votes is the website. And that looks to mainly just be there to get money from people. She has a "Platform" page that barely mentions a platform along with a few stock photos. The one picture of Boston she put on it is of a park that's not even in her fucking district. Her "official announcement" page has one post and hasn't been touched in 10 months. What the fuck does she do in this $1000/month office?

Oh and she paid a friend of Frank's some money to help with a video that no one in her district probably saw. She didn't buy ads or anything for it. Just made a video to brag to some people not in her district.

Just to add a touch of my own :autism:, that pic of a lab on the "platform" page is from a lab in the U.K./Europe.

"We'll make MA so great, women in STEM will flock here from countries like Paris and London!"

Wu only goes out in public when it's someplace where he knows he'll be surrounded by asskissers and fauning sycophants (and get money and/or positive coverage).

But going out there in the Real World, where no one has been vetted to insure that they'll lick Johnny's taint? And to no benefit to him? He'll just stay home and play with whatever expensive toy he screamed at Frank to buy him this week.

I honestly think that Wu knows that he has ZERO chance of getting elected, and this is just another in his long line of professions that he'll cosplay as until he gets bored of it. This is all done so that Bri can brag later that he "ran for office" and position himself on the same level as his personal Jesus, Hillary Clinton.

Not only did John run just like Hillary, he even lost to a CIS WHITE MALE pussy grabbing rapist, for no reason but sexism!

I'm actually kind of excited to see what bullshit John comes up with to explain why he lost.

Will it be a GooberGobber conspiracy?

Will it be Trump?

Will it be misogyny in the system?

Will it be misogyny in the district 8 voters?

Or, will Flu simply drop off for a bit and write a book about how he lost?

Yes.

And when she does come to spend money on those things (if it ever does happen) she'll be amazed at how quickly the money disappears.

Lets think about it... A little research indicates that an off season primary election in MA will attract something like 70,000 voters. That means that even with laser targeting of likely voters, you're still going to have to get your message out to like 100,000 people at some point during the primary campaign.

Lets say I have a demographic of 20K people I want to send a specific message to. Lets do a mailing. I want to make up a glossy concertina fold leaflet to send them. What would that cost?

  • Graphic design. Probably best not to let Wu do it herself considering the awful things coming out of her desk. Even cut-rate graphic design will probably run you at least $1000.
  • Printing. It's not that expensive to run off 20,000 leaflets. Print shops will fall all over themselves for your business. 400 bucks maybe?
  • Mailing. Perhaps 1500-2000 bucks.
And there you have it, Wu's entire warchest just evaporated in a single instant.

Wu got an enviable amount of national media coverage back when she started her campaign, considering she's pretty much a nobody. She's done absolutely nothing to capitalise on it. She spent all her money on frivolous things like her annual trip to altconf, where she could just as easily used personal funds. She's still spending on pointless shit like her empty office space.

I really don't think she cares anymore about being a politician. She's just enjoying the money while it lasts and planning what her next scamtastic venture will be. I think she expected a million bucks to just come pouring in with no effort required and, now that it hasn't, she's pretty much done.

What honestly gets me every fucking time - and I do mean every fucking time - is that John still has asspatters would give him even a single RED CENT.

Pretend these threads don't exist. Pretend that it's impossible to find any information about John before a month ago. Just by this publicly-available government document ALONE, it's absolutely fucking obvious that this is the most re,tarded and shameful scam ever conceived. It's a neck-and-neck race to the bottom to see which of these total fucking morons is the absolute dumbest. Truly breathtaking.

It will be something like: My campaign was designed to put the heat on Steven Lynch to tackle the real issues and it did. Twitter has changed it's harassment policy, Amazon might build a new HQ in Boston and Nintendo is re-issuing the Nes Mini, how can anyone say that my campaign was unsuccessful when I made all that happen?

Yeah....be on the lookout for phrases like "putting a spotlight on", "starting a conversation", "inspiring others"etc.

When do you think she's going to quit? I think the filing deadline is in May or June, and I see other MA politicians gearing up now starting their drives to get the signatures they need at public events. Wu hasn't even begun to prepare as we can see from the lack of any printing expenses in her FEC filings.

Do you think we'll get a resigned "well, I gave it my best shot" kind of thing around March time, or is she going to carry on pretending to the bitter end even when she doesn't appear on the ballot in October?

That would involve hiring people to do the signature drive. Unlike real candidates, John has no volunteers, since John doesn't even have any friends.
