I know others and myself have been over how John Flynt blatantly steals is inspired by Parasite Eve, but seriously he just stole Mitochondrial Eve's design. He just made it even more obvious in his update.

A little off topic: when did trannies make it in to the word filter?

From Phil/Ahuvia. It was used by one of Phil's asspatters not too long ago when we tried to kill him outside the tattoo parlor.

This would be sort of funny if I wasn't automatically convinced that he imagines that he's being incredibly intelligent by that observation. lol im randum xDD

1. Well as far as I know, it does only a little bit, but it does prevent them from achieving the objective (covering the area with paint as much as possible) for a while...

And in addition, killing an opponent stops them from killing you AND makes them explode into a pile of ink of your colour so it helps that objective.

I've never even played the game and I'm still a more credible Splatoon fan than Wu. How does that even happen?

Guessing Wu just got salty about people killing her constantly, it is rape after all!

See, all the villains would get new "hip" repackagings.

Batman would become Batwoman (and any mentions of an already-existing character by this name will earn you a block on Twitter), but if you say that he had gender reassignment surgery, then you'll get blocked. She is a woman. She was ALWAYS at war with Eastasia. Oops, I mean a woman.

Robin would retain his name, but would be retooled into Batwoman's husband, a short Asian man with stupid looking long hair. There would be evidence that Robin served as the sidekick to another hero before Batwoman, and abused them and burned them with a cigarette though nobody will be allowed to reference that and only the villains will ever bring it up, because they're evil.

The Joker would become "The Troll," and instead of deadly pranks and whatnot, his main power would be saying nasty things to Batwoman on Twitter (and there's NO EVIDENCE that Batwoman sent those messages to herself under a different account!!!)

Harley Quinn, instead of being abused by the Troll, would become the woman in charge who, is in charge of making sure he functions because after all he's a stupid male

Killer Croc would become, as you said, "The GamerGator," and his power would be to crash his car and then film a video screaming about it, causing Batwoman to cancel a planned convention appearance

Scarecrow would become "HateChan," and his power would be to send Batwoman death threats, causing him/her to claim to leave the Batcave out of fear, though a later storyline will present evidence that he/she was in the Batcave all along and simply made that up

Bane would become "TheBaneRetort," and his power would be to take pictures of Batwoman during a convention appearance, and he can only be defeated by Batwoman having security kick him out of the convention.

If I'm missing any, let me know.
Oh my fucking god.
Someone, please make BatWuman a reality. I would fucking pay to see this.

Now, I admit that I haven't played Splatoon, but I'd like to make the following uninformed suggestion: maybe, just MAYBE, killing other players in games is, you know, fun?

Oh shit I mansplained didn't I? Goddammit brb quitting Silicon Valley job

Like I said in the Blue Bear Preston thread, she is a shitty team player if she avoids killing enemies. I just have a match were an idiot went solo to invade the enemy area while the opposite team was ALSO INVADING and wrecking as they were playing as a team.

Killing players accomplish they waste time in respawning while is easier to paint areas. The matches are 3 minutes long so seconds wasted matters.

Fat lot of good any inking of ground does if you don't block any attempts by the opposing team to kick you off their turf. Tunnel vision on one job or another is a sure death knell in Splatoon.

Too bad "tunnel vision" is the creed of Wu and the rest.

...man, now I want to get back to some Splatoon. Eh, tomorrow.

...I just noticed something. It's small, and it might be nothing, but.... bear with me here.

Brianna Wu dislikes Destiny. Like, a lot.

But the thing is, Brianna Wu's most-notorious critic, Death to Brianna, had a very unique online handle: @Chatterwhiteman.

Chatterwhite is a notorious Shader in Destiny, earned via the Vault of Glass. It's hated by the playerbase not because it looks bad or anything, but because every time you get it, it indicates a time you didn't get a Legendary Weapon or piece of Raid Gear. I could make a joke about Destiny being biased against White Shaders here, but that's just silly. It is, however, very unusual that the very handle chosen by Brianna's SA-based attacker happened to be one from the very same game that Wu herself is professed to dislike.

It's just an unusual coincidence, and nothing more, but still.

EDIT: I just uncovered something, whilst working on the Wu-Article, that you guys might find interesting. Mostly, that Brianna Wu's advocacy of Anti-GG pre-dates Gamergate. Here you can find an article by Wu on Polygon pre-dating GG by over a month, filled with considerable bullshit that extols the likes of Leigh Alexander, essentially advocating a talking point that would be used about a month later during the "Gamer is Dead" barrage.

Now... I wonder what Wu might have had to do with that?

We've all been acting under the assumption that Wu shoved her nose into Gamergate to propel herself to popularity, but that's not what I'm seeing here. I'm seeing someone who was an Anti-GGer before GG ever broke and simply seized on her chance whilst the getting was good.

DOUBLE EDIT: Well, I got my answer. Turns out, Wu's infamous shoving her nose into Gamergate wasn't some attempt out of nowhere in popularity-milking - she's a long-time friend of Leigh Alexander. I have several tweets here where she's interacting with Leigh that pre-date Gamergate by a month or more and the two are quite chummy:

The two chatting it up on yon Twitter.

PREPARE FOR THE STORM, MAGGOT

Here, the two have a lengthy back-and-forth in regards to one of Leigh's articles. This was right before the infamous initial Wu flaggings.

More Leigh/Brianna being buddy-buddy.

We then have this article, lost in the kerfluffle, wherein we learn that Brianna calls Leigh "her friend":

PBS Interview dijo:
BRIANNA WU, Giant Spacekat: I think, very generally speaking, GamerGate is a war on women in this industry.

You know, ostensibly, it’s about journalistic corruption. But if you actually look at who’s being targeted, it is almost all women. They have gone after my friends in the industry one by one. They took out Samantha Allen by the exact same playbook. They took Zoe Quinn down by it.

They have gone after my friend Jenn Frank, Mattie Brice. They have gone after Leigh Alexander. They have gone after Anita Sarkeesian. And now they’re after me.

So it’s really reached a point where women — yes.

This cannot be an isolated coincidence. Every ounce of my experience as a lolcow chronicleer is telling me there's a lot more here, and that's where you Kiwis come in - especially the likes of noble @NegaCWC and @Smutley and @Yellow Yam Scam . If you guys find out any tangible connection between these two, let me know - I have a solid hunch that Wu was waist-deep in Gamergate from the get-go and I intend to prove it if so.

A couple pages back but:

Oh, $%^&. Did I have an opinion on SOCIAL JUSTICE that wasn't cheerleading everything the community does in an uncritical way? My bad.

SOCIAL JUSTICE is perfect, TUMBLR/TWITTER looks like the best community ever made. Your identity, which is wrapped up in mutual shame, silly mind games and the complete and total adherence to irrationality, is not being threatened. Please don't hurt me.

"With FEMINISM IN TECHNOLOGY, you're either with us or against us. Relentless, uncritical cheerleading is how we GET MORE WOMEN IN TECH."

Brianna's lost another $100 in the past week from her Patreon. Some bigger donors have dropped out. Down to $3,054 with 630 patreons.

She'll be under 3K soon, back where she was in December.

If you're right about this, and if you're able to prove it, I'll buy you a beer or equivalent frosty beverage.

I'm curious as to why this is important; we all know Wu was part of the "inner-circle" so what difference would it make to know she was aGGro before GG really took off?

Not sarcastic; watching Wu squirm is a hobby of mine.

No, she's white. At first. Her nanocolony goes batshit thanks to the Chessboard AI and she basically winds up suffering a horrible fucking fate no matter what choices you make. @Optimus Prime 's walkthrough made very clear that it was pretty apparent that Wu fucking hated this character on some level and wanted ensure she wound up right fucked no matter what you did.

Goddamnit, I feel stupider for having known this.

Actually, I have a theory about that - Unknown possibly represents what Wu envisions as a "fake" woman, given she's a fucking robot, or in other words a woman of artifical origin.

Now, yes, Wu is a MtF as well, but the difference is Wu avoids acknowledging they had a dick as John Flynt like the Bubonic Plague, to the point the fact they are transgender is verboten. Wu will say they were ALWAYS a woman.

Unknown, whom going back to Soc Uncon. was that Brea StupidFuckinglongLastName character who also seemed to be an outright self-insert R63 of Flynt, could possibly represent Wu's perception of the fact they are artificial, a fact they want to not exist.

Thus, the artificial woman dies, leaving only the natural woman.

Somewhat on the same token, Minnie represents pretty much everybody who Wu sees as the social norm declaring as perfect, whereas she sees them as being slightly imperfect and not deserving of the title - this is why she's the "best" Chessboard operative as mansplained by the shitty backstory book even though she is barely above 95% "efficency" or whatever. It's also why since Soc. Uncon. minnie's been kind of the whipping child of Wu's hate-boner - she represents the element of the patriarchy Wu wants constantly punished yet also acknowledged as necessary at times.

This cannot be an isolated coincidence. Makes sense - I always did find it odd just how she just shot to the top for those retarded TV and media interviews so shortly following the outbreak of GG from being a virtual fucking nobody. If she had been playing connections set up months in advance, then it's entirely possible she predicted, if not outright had a hand, in the events that actually spurred on the onset of GG...just not having any comprehension that the gamer crowd was able to be as powerful as it's become as a result

I'm curious as to why this is important; we all know Wu was part of the "inner-circle" so what difference would it make to know she was aGGro before GG really took off?

Not sarcastic; watching Wu squirm is a hobby of mine.

Almost every community watching Wu has thought she's nothing more than a controversy-riding charlatan.

This much has not changed with this possibility.

However, if it is true that Wu herself was directly involved with Alexander beforehand, then not only was Wu knowingly trollbaiting going into this, but she did so with malice aforethought. This is the point where Wu goes from being someone who seized on an opportunity to stretch 15 minutes of fame into half an hour to someone who did literally every action she took knowing full well what she was doing, and why.

The closest analogue I can think of is when we did the Vade article, and we learned that Kenneth's death was no tragic accident.

It also answers, perhaps, what I feel is the biggest question of all: how the hell does Wu have this much power and influence by her lonesome? Even Zoe Quinn hasn't been as proficient at getting on the news as Brianna Wu has. Yet every day, Wu makes headlines and meets with movers and shakers. We've always assumed that Wu was a literal nobody - some random crazy MTF amongst a sea of crazy MTFs we've covered, notable only for her willingness to shove her head into the proverbial thorns. But if she really was involved with this from the get-go?

Suddenly, everything is fucking explained. Why she was able to suddenly have her every word hung on like it was gospel. Why we suddenly had dozens of outlets covering our dear Commander Stryker. Why she was able to leap, seemingly out of nowhere, amidst all the professional victims on Anti-GG, and seize herself a leadership position.

If this was planned, this explains so much about Wu, and paints her in an infinitely more sinister light. Think about it: Suddenly, her meteoric rise to power makes perfect sense: It was planned. Wu suddenly becoming the biggest victim in Gamergate? She stuck her nose into the fire, sure, but there was a fucking framework perfectly ready and poised to make use of Wu's own tendencies. Third party trolls came down on Wu especially hard, but Death to Brianna was working for Something Awful - which we already know to be essentially supporting the Antis in everything but name.

That's why I'm convinced that if there's something here, we need to find it.
