When I get something meatier, it's yours, Autobot Commander.

Sweet, thanks! Might get more from my friend when he gets home and can talk, in relation to just what the hell was going on from his point of view at this disaster zone of a convention.

In the meantime, have this. For a long while, Wu's been harassed by a random that seems to be just one more troll account....

This seem strange. Most believe it to be a false-flagging troll account. And it likely is.

But here's the kicker: Guess who was referencing it?

Frank Wu creeps me the fuck out.

Hmmm, keksec_international (a.k.a. the fuckwit who made a big show about DDoSing some pony fan sites for a few hours) seems to be more active about Wu...
https://twitter.com/keksec_org

Still, if my limited understanding about Twitter format is correct...did Frank just say he hopes GG, ISIS and keksec destroys the person he's married to?

EDIT: Whoa, not only is he saying that, but he claims to have proof? Jesus, what the fuck is he doing? Trying to get help in divorcing the psychopath he married or something? Either the account was hacked or Frank has finally gained self-awareness of the situation he's in.

So, my friend has informed me he is not going to be able to provide intel about what happens at the Wu-spergathon today - because he intends to leave RavenCon well before that. From what it sounds like in what he tells me, the con itself is kind of sparsely attended (Well below expectations) and is one of the most unpleasant things he's ever been to.

Given Wu's gone-viral temper tantrum and proclaiming it as "her" convention, she might possibly have killed RavenCon by simply driving off the general public.

It was very sparsely attended. I don't know what the expectations were, honestly - it was in a hellhole called Mechanicsville at a cheap hotel convention space, can't imagine they thought the turn-out would be amazing. A bunch of panels on Saturday were cancelled because of low (or no) turn-out. I was there for work on Friday and Saturday and honestly, the utter lack of qt nerd babes was incredibly disappointing.

I think it's pretty obvious that Frank Wu and Brianna Wu come as a package deal for these conventions. Clearly many conventions are going to be smart enough to not want Brianna to do panels anymore, but is Frank important enough to you sci-fi types that he'd be worth booking if it meant Brianna had to do a panel too?

As far as I can tell, his only notability in the scifi sphere is winning worthless Hugos.

So I'm going to say no.

No. Brianna and Frank wave around his Hugo awards but they tend to leave out the category for what he got it for. Best Fan Artist.

"The Hugo Award for Best Fan Artist is given each year for artists of works related to science fiction or fantasy which appeared in low- or non-paying publications such as semiprozines or fanzines."

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hugo_Award_for_Best_Fan_Artist

It seems to be one of the lower rung awards for the Hugo's and it's one of those situations where saying what you won the Hugo for seems to diminish the fact you won a Hugo quite a bit. I'm not saying it isn't an accomplishment but what Brianna and Frank do is mislead people through omission when they state him as "Hugo Award Winning". It'd be kind of like you told people you've won an Oscar. They're going to assume it's for directing, writing, cinematography, or some other more recognizable thing. Then you tell them it's for Best Sound Mixing and then have to explain what that means. It kind of makes the award lose a bit of it's bite.

The "triangle" tank treads on these are identical, leading me to believe he had to have copied them from somewhere.

I think Frank's biggest flaw is he likes to throw random shit in there for the sake of being "wacky". Saying "artwork depicting tiny dinosaurs ice-skating as a giant laser cannon fires into space while being bombarded" sounds more interesting than the actual execution. He does shit like that all the time.

It's interesting you mention that, because both Wus love trumping up their "credentials" and "awards", no matter how minor or meaningless they are in the long run, as some validation of their glory and genius.

Wait, that sounds like a lot like OPL's reaction to the few awards and accomplishments he attained in his otherwise fail and drama filled life, come to think of it.

I think these two examples are very impressive and pretty cool. I know what you mean though like the holes in the wings of planes in r60. I've seen that in sci fi there is usually a helcopter blade in there or something like that, I know it's just make believe but make believe aircraft like that aren't supposed to be going supersonic.

Winning for best fan art suddenly makes much more sense. I was wondering why I had never heard of him in scifi before.
It's still an award, but it's just not really impressive. It's like winning best My Little Pony OC at some ponycon.

Yeah, his drawings look like shit you'd see on some head shop wall.

Remember that Frank's previous marriage had mutual accusations of abuse.

So watching Frank follow Brianna around with a nervous look on his face makes me think that he's the one who was abused. He's walking around worrying about Brianna getting into fights and having to fix things later. Classic abused-person behavior.

When did Brianna call it "her" convention? I've probably heard it before but it's been a rough weekend and I need reminded.

So the rule "you can't film panels": did Wu make that up on the spot to say why that sperg should be kicked out? And then they had to enforce that rule? Or was there really something Wu didn't want recorded during that panel? (I assume some Kiwi somewhere would have managed to get a recording regardless of the rule.)

Being abusive doesn't preclude being abused oneself. Perhaps he's a switch bitch who is only abusive to a more passive personality.
