I have no position on this Ralph person, but damn, John looks like he's about to have an aneurysm just looking at Twitter.

Jesus, her responses in this.

"DID YOU TAKE THIS PICTURE?"

"GET OUT."

From what has been said by multiple sources now, her reason for her anger? This one tweet on Ralph's twitter feed:

QBSFKAC.png

That's right - she actively checked her Twitter feeds during the event from her iPhone. Wu is such a Twitter addict that she must be connected to it at all times. Ralph may have done some Homer-esque stupid, but he truly brought the lulz here: No sooner did he post that than Wu - literally, within 2 minutes - suss out the apparent source and confronted him, looking like she wanted to physically attack him.

She then, apropos of nothing, demanded his eviction not just from the room, but from the entire Con, which the staff would not oblige her for and Wu was then very cross about. Sadly for Wu, Ralph did not go alone and the entire affair was recorded by operatives.

She also is currently accusing Ralph of doxxing her at this event.

Looks like @AnOminous got his wish - all it took to provoke Wu to a complete chimp-out was posting a photo of her setting up for the event.

UPDATE: Sargon's already commenting on it:

Her body language makes it clear she isn't afraid, but is in fact a petty tyrant using her power to bully a political opponent.

@Jaimas back in my Scout Troop used to have a saying for something like this: "If this pine cone pisses you off, you have serious issues.."

Can we set up an intervention for Wu? She really has a serious addiction to Twitter if she can't go half an hour without checking it. Though, I guess that is in the job description for a professional victim.

Aw, I think we would have gotten an even more lolsworthy overreaction from Wu had this Ralph guy denied taking the photo. There will be more opportunities in the future, I'm sure, but this could have been so much more amusing.

"I want him banned from the con!"

What a fucking crybaby.

Edit:

Also, is a convention considered a public place? If so, then no one needs Briannas permission to take her picture if they were so inclined.

I WANT RALPH

OUT!
OF MY!
CONVENTION!

I'll send in detectives! I'll send in police! I'll send in EVERYTHING IN MY POWER!

So yeah, please, get Ralph out of my convetion...

NowNOWNOWNOWNOWNOW!

Curse the gators, peace to everyone else.

It may not have been the ultimate chimp out, but it had its moments. Wu's I'm triggered face, the staff shutting down Wu's demands that Ralph be banned from the entire convention, Frank following Wu around like an abused housewife, and the guy in a utilikilt and batman shirt telling the attendees, in a bewildered, stressed voice, that they cannot take pictures or videos of the panel.
I do wonder how far it would have went if Ralph had denied it was him. Ralph's fat, but Wu is a giant with manhands, so it could have been an interesting fight.

I was there. It was astounding to watch this go down, honestly.

The security outside talked a lot of shit about Briana during her talk.

Frank was also quietly but obviously losing his shit for about 15 minutes after what you saw in the video. Just pacing back and forth like a mad man, doing that thing that people do where they bite their fist when they're nervous. He looked genuinely terrified. What a time to be alive.

Why was Brianna Wu invited to speak at RavenCon back before GamerGate, when she wasn't even important enough to get a wiki page?

From my experience you end up speaking at cons when you're not Somebody when you're friends with a person who runs it.
But getting places via connections rather than merit is totally not in character with any of these yokels, and obviously couldn't have any thing to do with this.

I'm guessing that in this case it's not Brianna who is friends with the con's organizer, but rather her husband. While Brianna didn't have a wikipedia article until GamerGate, Frank had one since 2004.

That was amazing.

I mean, wow, he didn't do anything threatening at all, he just....took a picture of Wu during the setup phase of the booth and quietly attended.

No threats, no attempted assault, nothing worth getting pissed over, just the presence of a known critic.

Wu is pretty goddamned petty.

Also, the fact Wu is manacled to Twitter is no surprise whatsoever to me, but the fact Wu is so petty that he has to monitor ANYTHING said about him in any regard for potential attention whore ammo is just beyond sad.

"I want him banned from the con!"

What a fucking crybaby.

Edit:

Also, is a convention considered a public place? If so, then no one needs Briannas permission to take her picture if they were so inclined.

If the facility is open to the general public, then it's no different than if Wu had his photo taken on a public street. Places like courtrooms or private establishments can enforce regulations against photography and video in the interest of privacy and security (courts especially in countries like the UK), but Wu would otherwise have no legal right to demand no photos be taken.

Watch her spin this as harassment. What a joke. Not a big fan of Ralph, but he clearly came out ahead here. This makes Wu look insane, especially since she's still trying to play the whole JACE WAS OUT TO GET ME garbage.
