The thing is sexuality isn't a bad thing, There can still be strong female characters who don't take shit from anyone and are comfortable with their sexuality at the same time.

Relevant rant.

Wu doesn't have the maturity to understand that, and I doubt at this point she ever will.

Is not a running joke in the Sailor Moon fandom that Tuxedo Mask is useless and always brainwashed, killed or needed to be rescue by the Scouts?
Yeah, he's frequently joked as being absolutely useless, especially in the 90s anime after Kunihiko Ikuhara took helm.

I'm surprised we don't see her sperging over Utena or some shit.

Utena isn't a trendy buzzword of a show. He wouldn't know anything about it.

Well, thr thing is that Wu was a pretty big weeb in the late 90s, early 2000s from what we know. It's fairly bizarre that we've never seen anything beyond a few tips of the hat to SM. It's odd we've never seen any references to Evangelion, Gundam Wing, Utena, or anything popular in the US back then.

Though admittedly, the themes and messages of EVA and Utena more or less would tell Wu to fuck off.

I saw Brianna Wu in public last month. She is almost 7' in platforms, so I am estimating 6'4 or 6'5. Bitch towers over Frank.

I'm getting conflicting data on what Frank Wu actually does. Is he a researcher or a patent troll? Both?
No self-respecting lawyer would have hair like that and few scientists would because it's a potential fire hazard.
He is a patent troll; he doesn't have to see clients. Self-respect is a hindrance to his job.

The funniest part is that the English voice actress for Rei Ayanami did the voice of Crimson 09 in Rev60.

I could sperg on about Sailor Moon for awhile
In the anime dub, Usagi and Rei act like typical catty girls for awhile
In R, Neo-Queen Serenity banishes a group of evil political activists off the fucking planet
In R, Pluto is ready to kill Moon, Venus and Tuxedo Mask for trespassing
In R, Chibimoon lets herself get corrupted and tries to kill the others so she can get with her own father
In S, I think all of the Outers are willing to destroy the world or kill the inners at some point
In S, Uranus and Neptune plan to kill Saturn before she destroys the solar system, which makes sense but still she's a sickly 12 year old girl who didn't do anything yet
In a SuperS special, Neptune risks humanity to save Uranus and states she wouldn't care if everyone else died
In most of the anime, Sailor Moon heals the villains and makes them good. In the manga she/they usually just kill them
In StarS, Uranus and Neptune kill Pluto and Saturn. It's part of a failed plot to stop the baddie but they don't seem all that torn up about it
In StarS Cosmos' plan is to destroy a shitton of souls to stop the bad guy, which would stop them from being reborn ever again
I'm paraphrasing a lot but also forgetting a lot that's just what I remember
Utena and EVA aren't as tumblr popular and thus don't have as many articles about how they are so feminist (which, don't get me wrong SM totally is). Is there anything else she actually praises as being super duper feminist aside from Sailor Moon and her own game?

Wu was probably a fan of something extremely problematic, like Dragonball Z and just doesn't want to admit it

I doubt he really "likes" anything. He probably looks for what others like that he finds advantageous to show interest in, but he doesn't strike me as the type who really can really feel something that positive towards a work. Like those spastics who watch Star Trek to find errors to complain about.

Please don't use the words "problematic" and "Dragonball Z" in the same sentence. :(

This is a semantic and autistic post, but I'ma sperg out for a second because the terminology that's being used is triggering me:

Frank Wu is not a "patent troll." Patent trolls are guys or companies who claim to have a patent, but just sit on the technology and don't practice it. The term doesn't refer to the lawyers the trolls hire to represent them.

More importantly, Frank (as far as I can tell) is a patent agent, not a patent lawyer. This means he doesn't have a JD, hasn't passed the bar, isn't a lawyer, and spends his time drafting patent applications and providing technical know-how assistance. He probably isn't involved in any litigation or arguing cases or any of the activities that we would associate with patent trolling. The most you could say is that he possibly works alongside people who represent patent trolls, but calling him a patent troll is actually overstating the kind of work he does.

(not hating on patent agents, one of the sharpest guys I know works as one)

So he's essentially doing contract work for patent lawyers drawing on his technical expertise? Did I get that right?
