You know, I don't think many people understand the idea behind Don't Feed the Trolls. Though perhaps that's just that the Internet has changed or something, I don't know.

I mean, look at people like Chris. If he had just gone "Oh jeeze, a mildly embarassing photograph of me is on the Internet. I'll just ignore it and wait for people to forget." then... This forum would probably not exist, and he'd probably be a hell of a lot more content in his life (Excluding IRL shit which would, of course, have kept on happening.)

Instead he launched a one man crusade to beat the Internet and prove himself the Superior Gentleman.

To me, that's what don't feed the trolls means. It means that when you fail to hide your power level and embarrassing shit happens, you just ignore it and let it go away.

Or take SnapeSnogger, when you go to a forum of professional artists and art students and they critique your work, you don't try to get your fans to start some sort of war with them.

Or, on a broader less individual level, it means that when someone walks into your Steven Universe fandom forum and says that Steven Universe is shit, you don't engage them because they are trying to get a rise out of you.

It doesn't (I'm going to give Brinna Wu the benefit of the doubt here, so sorry to any hard anti-Wu's that bothers) mean that when you are getting death threats, that you sit silently and take them.

5. TIL "don't feed the trolls" is OPPRESSION

It's certainly oppression for Wu, who would be utterly ignored as a troll herself under such a system.

To be fair at least the devs probably didn't know until after they signed the contract. At least they have an excuse of going in blind.

This. I wouldn't blame anyone for having been an associate of Wu or working for her shitty company, at least previously. Remember, she was absolutely obscure and unheard-of before latching onto goobergrape.

Because "feeding the trolls and winning" gives people a feeling of control and superiority. The SJW branded feminism is about not be quiet and denounce, even when is pretty clear that self rightness will only get you so far in the Net.

But "not feeding the trolls" also has its logic in bullying issues. Even if the bully still continues to harass you, the fact that you are not responding in his terms avoids that the conflict escalates, that other persons join the bully or that became a bully yourself . This is no applicable in all situations, obviously, there is truly bad and vile people in the world and in the Internet. But is probably not socially smart to throw a hissy fit every time someone does a perceived wrong to you.

Wu, in other hand, has killed any credibility about death threats and harassement even whitin some of her sjw clique.

This probably explains why the combat is Wu's least favorite part of Rev60, aside from the fact that she didn't make it herself

And if this isn't cognitive dissonance, I don't know what is...

Edit: Embedded the twitter posts
Bonus Round: More proof that B. Wu doesn't listen to the stuff that comes out of her mouth/twitter,

Brianna isn't against "don't feed the trolls" because of "privilege" or any other such nonsense. She's against it because she wants to be fed.

Real people report real threats to the real police. These are jokes. Wu in particular.

Can we get links to those posts? I have a feeling that they're fake.

It's part of a larger twitter manifesto, The GSX Creed. The fourth tweet is the one about lazy gameplay, the eighth is the one about iOS games. Anyway, if gameplay based on killing enemies is lazy than I can totally see why it's so prominent in R60; a game that took five years to make despite being so simple must have been made by a lazy person.

What the HELL is all this shit.

Murder in games is stupid, but there's murder in her game.

iOS games are stupid, but her game is on the iOS.

If this isn't Chris levels of :stupid:, then nothing else is.
