I know it's already been said but this post single handedly illustrates wu's willingness to talk on subjects she has no fucking clue on. Climate change might do in mankind eventually but the only way it's going to kill us off in our children's lifetimes is to indirectly nudge a more desperate mankind to nuclear war, climate change is more about extinctions due to changes in habitat and not being too fucked to successfully colonize space or sustain the population that tech would allow in 500 years because of stupid shit we did today. Given the rate which global energy consumption is increasing energy shortages and subsequent revolutions and resource wars are a more significant short term threat.

Most of the characters are sexualized especially the feminine ones. What would the reaction be if the trans character looked like a cross between bullrog and chun-li with m.bison's chin? Do trans people really want that? Do men want to play characters that look like skinnyfat pizza faces?

Dogs are just accessories to John. Like that Havanese. Other than being neglected and acting out in frustration at being left alone by tearing stuff up, we know about nothing about that dog. Someone I have a lot of respect for once commented that one of the hallmarks of stupid people is the inability to contextualize anything that doesn't directly pertain to them or their lives. Climate change is a huge problem we need to address now, but there's not really a huge apocalypse scenario that will occur in our lifetime to make it exciting. Thus, it's something we need to fix now, even though we're not the people it will ultimately screw. Wu can't contextualize this, so she decides to act as though "Day After Tomorrow" was a documentary.

Its also one of the hallmarks of narcissism.

I would consider it being "Wu'd" when someone starts informing you that you need to (Check Your Privilege/Stop Mansplaining/Shut Up and Listen/Etc) because you are (White/Cis/Hetero/Male/Etc) when you offer an opinion on something.

This is seriously the biggest problem I have with Wu. The condescending, patronizing attitude with which she feels that she can instruct others on the manner in which they are "allowed" to contribute to a public (by definition) discussion is galling, especially coming from someone who has arguably accomplished nothing of worth in their particular field. If Sid Meier or Roberta Williams were to tell me that they don't need my input on game design, then fair enough, they have more than proven themselves and have earned a measure of respect. But BriannaFuckingWu should really be accepting input from any source willing to provide it.

Honestly, at this point I will be amazed and impressed if the "Special Edition" of Revolution 60 is even released at all. Choosing Steam as a distribution platform for a more expensive port of a mobile game wasn't what I'd call the brightest of ideas, but after the debacle on the Steam Greenlight forums and the general feelings the userbase has towards mobile ports, should Revolution 60 be released on Steam it's going to be torn apart with no mercy and likely abused with the new refund system. The prudent thing to do would probably be a quiet independent release on a personal website, just to make it less likely that anyone who dislikes you/your game will go out of their way to try to ruin your day. Otherwise, if negative feedback is your thing and you need to cry harassment for people pointing out legitimate flaws in your product and questioning you over your past actions...full ahead on Steam. Probably not anytime soon, though; it'll likely be "released" when Brianna Wu's skydive into irrelevance becomes apparent to even Brianna Wu.

What's going to be fun is when all of the people who have not been able to experience the game firsthand will be able to. A lot more people own computers than iPads/iPhones/iPods...which means a bigger audience for a game that doesn't hold up very well when compared to others. I wonder how many of her supporters have actually played her game...or would be willing to support her after playing it.
