Im not even sure what he's trying to say here.
She didn't face any problem, caused by misogyny. Even in her official résumé her "career" inside the game industry starts with GSX. A "company" where she is her own boss, exclusively hired women and produced a "game" for Apples Appstore, without any publisher or deadlines involved. If she knows any cases of misogyny, then only second hand at best.Again, she worked on Rev 60 in a bubble. Nobody she didn't want involved in the project was in it, she had nobody pushing her to finish it earlier, she has no hard deadlines, she answered to no one and had no financiers to tell her what to do. She had complete control over every aspect of the game. That's the end goal for a lot of people in the actual game industry but they aren't financially privileged enough to be able to skip directly to it. The only people she kind of has to answer to are the kickstarter supporters and as we can see she gives no fucks about them. Wu's studio is amazingly disconnected from the game industry and reality since at least one employee is made up and all the others from Rev60 no longer work for her. Anyone working for her right now is a hired gun and will most likely get minimal credit (which is more of a boon in this case).
Wu has never given a clear example of HOW she's faced problems in the game industry. All of her complaints about it are from an outsider's perspective and show no actual insight you couldn't get from browsing a few game/tech sites. I know this is all old news but it amazes me that Wu has gotten this far just by stating the same thing over and over again.
Can someone explain why they're wearing miniskirts? In space?
There isn't really a lot solid here but I highly doubt brianna ever had a net yaroze.
Or her parents bought her a Net Yaroze and she never used it.It's interesting that Wu claims that her parents gave her $1000 for a net yaroze. I found this claim to be suspicious so I dug in a little more. I already remembered the net yaroze was less than $1000.. but maybe her parents were generous or maybe bri would have inflated to price for a little extra cash.
Several of her articles seem to imply she got the net yaroze right after the playstation came out and when she was a child but I'm not able to find any concrete claims but, the net yaroze came out in 1997 years after the ps1 came out. Also wu would have had to already know C (getting a useful C compiler and libraries was not easy for kids in the 90s either.. I had to pay $100 to get bcc, eventually you could install linux but at that time it was also a massive timesink just to get the box runing with a soundcard and X11) and also have access to a computer of her own. Which is odd considering she complained about the VAXes available at her in school, if she already had her own computer complete with development tools why would she complain about having to do homework on the university VAX, which she couldn't use for yaroze development.
Also it says that her parents gave her this money, but the youngest brianna could have been at the time was 21 this would have meant they bought her an expensive time wasting development platform when she was already in debt for 200k and should have been busy trying to make a product to get their money back.
Further if you bought the net yaroze it was all community supported over usenet. A search of the net yaroze usenet group shows no posts by john flynt, jflynt, flyntj, flynt, or anyone from millsaps or ole miss.
Furthermore given how weak her resume was and the inclusion of practically worthless disparate skills you'd think that she'd mention the ability to code a game in C and it would be given more space than "implement new software". Lastly she doesn't have a single programming class, I find it hard to believe anyone who knows computer programming would go to college and not take a single computer or programming class, if you already know how to code the beginning classes are a good way to learn a new language, get some practice and walk out with an easy A as these classes all have to work with the assumption that you might not already know how to program.
Finally if brianna knew C and lived near boston why would she ever have to take a job at gamestop?

Well it could run Parasite Eve right? That's using it.....Or her parents bought her a Net Yaroze and she never used it.
Isn't that the lesson we've learned over the past 838 pages of this thread anyway?Did she just compare the game industry to high school? Really???

If only it has a qte system where you type in your emotionsi can just imagine john dropping the game midway because he did not like to grind and waste ammo killing everything like the psycho he is
i can bet 20 bucks that he did not even did the Chrysler Building
What is Wu's beef with The Escapist? Judging from that comic bit, aren't they on the same side of the anti/Gamergate slapfight?
