Rate me optimistic, but I think Wu might be showing a bit of self-awareness now. They have to know that they can't keep shoving Rev60 back under the rug forever, so their days are numbered. In retaliation, they are being as obnoxious and annoying as possible on Twitter in an attempt to rustle up a few legit death threats they can latch on to for some Anita-style fame of their own to ride for a while.

Interesting idea. She must be running out of media to show people when she's giving them a pitch for cash, articles or speaking. When all you've got to show is a known hoaxster in a skull mask and you show it to people and don't tell them it's fake.

They're going to be super pissed, also anyone who finds out is going to be feeling deceived and the most in depth coverage of the incident is right on our own wiki. Even if I don't believe it all totally I'm going to be cautious enough not to provide you any resources when there are other alternatives who claim to do the same thing you do... especially anita and zoe who got to speak at the UN and on the daily show as well as other tech experts and actual activists.

Then there are tweets, you just can't make me feel bad enough to give you money with 140 characters of threat,... wu needs multimedia threats that were made this year in order to make a convincing pitch she just has to stir the pot enough to get a schizophrenic on youtube to notice her and make a video for her.

Speaking of 'speaking', I wonder what she is going to bring to that convention that everyone is making a big fuss over. SXSW, or whatever it is called. I have a theory: Wu does not speak a lot with other women in tech.

She might have a few female friends/acquaintances, but they either yes-(wo)men and nod to every thing she says, or they aren't in 'tech' at all. I bet in her entire 'career' she hasn't seriously interviewed a single women, talked about problems they experience or how their experiences are. (At least I couldn't find anything like that.) This would also explain why Wu has no numbers or stories to back up her claims, besides her wildly fluctuating "Death Thread Count" or something she pulled out of some study she found on the net.

Wu's been playing this canard for years despite it being categorically untrue and repeatedly disproven. the TL;DR is that the only people declaring there to be rampant sexism in "the industry" are, virtually without exception, assholes who want a piece of that pie without working for it or suffering for it. By now, you guys all know how often Wu claims to have certifications she does not possess.

So they have no certifications. And as you all saw from dear @Henry Bemis's post just now, she doesn't have any ability nor desire to earn those certifications. So what's Wu's solution? Force herself in anyway, along with every other person like her, regardless of qualification. It's all ego with these nutters, and they want that slice of the pie, even though they've done nothing to earn it. Moreover, they don't even really want to do anything with it, other than turn it into a mouthpiece, a feather in their hat, something they can take over and use to push their own insane nonsense over everyone else with (which they do with literally every fucking thing else).

For all intents and purposes, Gamergate itself has been over for about four months. It's solely watchdog now, having essentially done its job and gone home. The thing is, SocJus now uses Gamergate as its go-to bogeyman for absolutely everything now. Brianna Wu, in this regard, is simply a microcosm of the same professional victimhood narrative, especially in regards to its complete lack of competence.

In the real world you don't begin to make a profit until you've made back all the money you initially sunk into a product. Until that point you are "in the red", and a product is automatically a failure if it can't cover the costs it took to make it.

Wu seems to be under the impression that every sale made from the product's release date counts towards profit. As in she started at 0 and only needed to work up from there. In actuality, she started at -400,000 and at this point has no hopes of ever breaking even let alone netting a profit. So, in Wu's mind, she's made a profit and is therefore successful because she has no fucking clue how business works. This is what you get when you don't teach your children the value of money and just let them fuck around without consequences.

Who else would proudly say that in they learned more during two years of destroying the trust fund that their parents probably spend decades building so their son could go to college comfortably and then make a down payment on a house..... than they did any of the times they dropped out of some slacker major?

Okay, hold on a second here.

Profit is important for businesses, expanding the retained earnings of what the company has available. If Brianna Wu wants Giant SpaceKat to work, for people to buy its stock or even get a bank to extend credit to it, it needs profits.

Revenues is the amount of money the business takes in. If Brianna Wu doesn't actually care about the balance sheets of Giant SpaceKat (and I've yet to see anything that discusses her skills at Accounting favorably), she can utterly ignore profits and eventually plan just to have GSK go bankrupt. If the "four times the returns" largely means that she pays herself out of the company's funds, then this isn't about breaking even. It's about cash flow, about keeping a facade of a game in development going while paying herself to tweet about her dog not getting the medical aid he needs to stay alive.

Any attempt by Brianna Wu to go to a real bank and ask for credit will result in demands for the company's financials, which likely would end with Brianna Wu claiming that Chase and Capital One are somehow in league with GamerGate.

However, my suspicions are that Brianna Wu doesn't care one iota about profit, she's walked away from businesses before. As long as she can continue to pay herself from her revenues (that Patreon money, plus whatever pittance her sales actually are) and she never seeks to do legitimate business, she doesn't need to worry about Profit. This isn't good business, but Brianna certainly doesn't seem to have the right priorities anyhow.

You can make a very fine living from unprofitable businesses, and if you don't care about their well-being, there's not really a downside. I have zero doubt that Giant Space Kat is destined for Bankruptcy, possibly as soon as the people on Patreon try to demand their money back. But until they do, the revenues will keep it running.
