She knows that only trolls play her game and everyone else just pretends they have or will get around to it one day. By bashing bethesda she can provide the impression that she's some hot indie deal that would only be held back by a big studio.
 
She's really latched onto this whole "hot take" idea, which is the journalistic equivalent of straight-up trolling. Alas, she hasn't quite grasped the Weening 101 concept that you're not supposed to announce you're trolling while in the process of trolling.

I get where the salt is coming from. Wu's own terrifying plastic face is deeper in the uncanny valley than the faces in Fallout 4. That's gotta be triggering. Add on that nobody gives a fuck about Tomb Raider when there's a game with this Fallout's level of scope, and it's understandable she'd be a bit pissy.
 
People, let Mrs. Wu go on this. She just likes to play games where she can blow stuff away and feel like the alpha dog. She wouldn't like Fallout because there are RPG elements and her choices may effect something. So complicated and no QTEs!

Oh, she likes Mass Effect? Let me rephrase- RPG elements greater than "blue is benevolent, red is dead" and "We'll bang, okay?" - which apparently Wu couldn't even comprehend and was busy fucking over the galaxy and giving the Reapers sloppy seconds.

I think because she (and other SJWs, (if Femenist Frequency reviewing the game tell us something) thought that this was gonna be the hot new game of the week that could be leeched (iconic female videogame character and female writter involved) until they realised that Fallout 4 was bigger deal.

Personaly, I thought the best aspects of TR2013 were the gameplay than the story, so is funny she is focusing so much in the story aspect of the sequel when BethesdaFallout/EldersScrolls had janky combat. Then again, that would be admitting that one is a sandbox with multiples options in approaching encounters and the other is a gory shooter with platforming puzzles.

Nah that'll be too hard. I imagine FemFreq will rally against Fallout for allowing people to choose whether to play as a male or female rather than enforcing playing as a woman first and that's why it sold more.

First one's a possibility, apparently MacCready from Little Lamplight can be a companion, but the second is unlikely. Seeing as your wife dies however in the Vault.

Well, the Femenist Frequency review was done by a external reviewer (a ex-gamespot employee transsexual girl) so may very well be thrown under the bus if Anita or Josh forget about their site reviewing positive it in one of their rants.

But I doubt Wu would backpedal that hard if it happens, Lara seems to be in her camp of "fetished women" like Samus.
 
Funny she's mentioning Fallout. It's really quite amazing that game set in a post apocalyptic wasteland filled with horrifying mutated creatures still manages to be more visually appealing than Wu's tribute to mid 90's chinese bootleg Playstation games.

The only people I see on twitter or elsewhere saying "hot take" are typical anti-GG people and SA goons (often overlapping). Whenever you see "hot take:" on twitter it's an SA goon/weird twitter/tumblrite/someone you wouldn't want to be friends with in real life. In my experience it's become a red flag for insufferable people, much like using "folks" instead of people or "heck"/"dang" instead of hell/damn.
