I propose that nonhomosexual (i.e., presumably autogynephilic) MtF transsexuals are probably at increased risk for the development of narcissistic disorders— significant disorders in the sense of self—as a consequence of the inevitable difficulties they face in having their cross-gender feelings and identities affirmed by others, both before and after gender transition. I can't tell what disgusts me more - Wu using another tragedy as a platform for herself or the "journalists" of the Boston Globe enabling this piece of shit.

It's a name that has come up a few times in Wu lore but I don't think we actually have any real backstory on the person/character. That said, the fact that she's helping with the "cases" makes it sound like she fills the same role as Natalie, which was handling all the harassment cases of B-Wu.
Wu like Chris likes to pretend Giant Spacekat is a giant global multimedia firm which employs thousands of people and makes billions. Occasionally she makes up employees to keep the illusion going.
The tweet about the bomb robot is just bullshit. They couldn't attempt to take the guy alive, and any attempt to try would have gotten more of them killed or wounded, and the suspect was clearly not going to let himself be taken alive. Worse, even if they TRIED to get the bomb outside, it wouldn't be in a contained area and could have done more damage to innocent people since the shrapnel of the bomb would've flown farther.
The only way they could disarm the bomb and prevent more innocent deaths was to make sure the bomb didn't explode in their face outside the building.
And if that meant the maniac who wanted to use the damn thing died of it, it was the least crappy option they had.

I think you're misunderstanding the situation - the suspect didn't have the bomb, the police created a bomb and put it on the robot to be detonated inside. Still a good idea, though.

I forget where, but Wu has said in the past that "Natalie O'Brien" is a pseudonym to prevent the real person who does this job being harassed. I suppose this is supposed to explain why Natalie doesn't appear to exist anywhere as a real person. Of course it isn't as though Wu had to advertise the existence of this person at all, pseudonym or not. I always consider the way Wu casually tosses her name about as one of the biggest reasons I tend to believe she isn't a real person.
