I've always regarded Patreon as being sort of like an apprenticeship. It's something you do when you're new and haven't established yourself enough (or lack the skills) to make it on your own. Doing it constantly for your entire career is like being that kid who never left his first job.

Most of the people I follow who have Patreons use it as a tip jar to go towards buying things to review. Regardless of the money they'd be uploading videos anyways... The patrons of those artists get nifty things like extra vids, prints, art coupons, requests, tutorials, etc.

Wu gives back nothing to the community, just like the others that take advantage of the site.

Doom is fuelled by testosterone and adrenaline. It is in every way the perfect opposite of Revolution 60 and goes against every single thing Brianna has said about what she wants in video games.

Oh, I don't know. They can be pretty fearless, just in a more literal sense. They are entirely without fear of their work being called hack journalism. They are unconcerned with the prospect of publishing blatantly uncorroborated editorials and calling it news. They are not afraid to boldly step into a role previously played by Weekly World News.
Rolling Stone is kind of embarrassing, tbh. You have a publication that was, at one time, somewhat respected for being able to offer a fresh and nuanced perspective. They then settled into this edgy role a little too much and promptly rode it into the fucking ground until shit like this happened:
