I'm amazed at how Deagle Nation rebounded from obscurity pretty much a year after the car crash. Semper fidelis to all our gamers in arms.

Whenever people moaned about Jace being fake in chat, we would tell them: "Either this is all real and amazing, or Jace is one of the greatest performance artists of our time". Deagle Nation officially ended almost a year ago now, and it was post mortem for well over a year at this point. Yet ... it still goes on. These people had to have known. SyFy's products and equivalents of @CatParty had to have found the wiki and found out that the people they were splicing clips from were actors. Wu knew too.

It's almost as if these people care more about putting on a show and drumming up the pity factor than they do the truth. We need ethics, ethics in SyFy original series episodes. Please join me in tweeting #SyFyGate

yeah it has nothing to do if jace was real or fake. this wasn't a news broadcast (i have yet to watch but i'm giving you what i know from experience).
shows like this are purely for entertainment. this wasn't for you or me or us, this was made for casual viewers who are flipping through channels to stop for a while to justify ad sales.
now with jace and wu, yes he was a troll to wu and yes it could be noted he was just playing a character, but to a producer making this program wu is the story.
to categorize this i would call it a white suburban horror story. wu voices opinion on internet and subsequently faceless trolling entities are telling wu to die. you or i find this hilarious because this is just how it is day to day in our world, but to the producer making this for not us, this is a travesty. so we go with that angle because there are more people outside of our internet culture than in. thus creating a program that will reach more people and charge higher ad spots.
if this were a news report, you'd have at least 4 professionals vetting every single detail it's about the incident instead of an entertainment program like this having a PA or intern sending out likeness releases. (if you want a good example of this going wrong check out the movie The Truth. it's about producer mary mapes and the george bush military service records scandal)
so to summarize, this was just made for entertainment. however, if you want something to laugh about, think of it like this: wu is a double idiot for believing jace was real and also falling for a scam like this show.

I dealt with this woman before and talked about this clown in another thread but I didn't know she was also a Brianna Wu white knight. Shame her Twitter is protected because her channels have some very weird fucking videos. She was the idiot that had that confrontation with @Spectator on Twitter a while ago. I'm pretty sure @Ausyarr can explain in more detail.

I also remember her randomly coming to my Twitter, saying hi one day and then the next day without provocation blocking me.

When I was 8, I didn't give a fuck about the game industry. I just, you know, played the fucking games like a normal kid. Truth be told, I still don't give a fuck about it.

Wu's defenders would probably say something like "well, you're a cishet male with privilege," or "maybe Wu was just a smart kid." Both are bullshit because 1.) no matter how badly these idiots want them to, gender and sexual preference have nothing to do with video games and 2.) Brianna Wu isn't a smart adult, so that kinda deflates the whole argument right there.
