It's what happened a couple of years ago when Parliament had the bright idea of trying to get us to vote for our police commissioners (basically trying to politicise the police) no-one bought their shit and saw it as the waste of money and democracy it was. Out of the 13% or so of eligible voters that turned up, the most popular candidate was 'Chief Wiggum' followed closely by 'Dirty Harry'

You mean like wrting Mickey Mouse on the ballot? Yeah thats been done before but seriously why bother? It takes at least an hour out of your day to vote in this country.

We have something similar to that police thing with some state Supreme Court judges. Theres quite a few states where they are elected and are essentially politicians. They have to shill for money and when they do they become beholden to special interests and have TV ads and all that shit. A 3 judge panel in Iowa got a swift kick out the door because they dared to actually decide something based on the Constiution and allow gay marriage in Iowa.

At least your voter turnout is higher than ours. You guys have around 70% while we are hovering around 50%. Hell some people are actually making it harder for people to vote in this country while other countries are making it easier. Shit, I hear in like Sweden or Denmark or some country in Europe you can actually vote online.

If someone says "the original XCOM" they mean the one from the 1990s. And lots of people put hundreds of hours into that.

Nah, dude. As an X-COM hipster, I know full well that if people mean UFO defence, they'll let you know by hyphenating it.

I was actually going to point out that if her system has problems with XCom2 then it will never run VR. Hell, my 7 year old PC runs XCom2 with no hiccups (admittedly it was completely top of the line when I built it, but still probably less expensive her "third fastest Mac ever built"), but I still have to upgrade my video card in order to meet the minimum specs for the Vive.

My entire adult life has been a fight to find decent dance music in America. Even with iTunes nowadays, I keep throwing artists into the system and getting no hits.

It's not a coincidence that the country that is so oblivious to deeper meaning has no concept of dance music. I try to explain it to people, but they're too indoctorinated into country and pop.

Why, I ask, is dance music not allowed to the masses in America? Is it a coincidence? Is there just no market for it? Why are so dead to something so important?
