John Flynt, the Twitter "expert" and "software engineer" tried to tattle to STTimelines yesterday... from his private account. Since they don't follow John's private account, they of course never saw the tweet. More of John's patented "professionalism" on multiple levels.

Despite having "committed" (for the nth time) to shipping R60PC imminently, John has been heavily trolling their forums the past couple of weeks and claims to be "pretty addicted to their game".

Wu also has a kind of "militant hipster" persona that she likes to project. It seems one of her favorite hobbies is to research a facet of nerd/geek/scifi culture just enough to find something that people pretty much universally agree about, then say something about it that goes against the general perception for no more reason than to get a rise out of people. For example: "Samus is trans", "Paragon Shepard is immoral", "The Star Wars Prequels are the best", etc...

And it works, too. I'd almost call Wu a genius troll if not for two things. Firstly, she's a one trick pony. Every single outrage she drums up like this is a minor variation on the theme of "Here's why the thing you like sucks, so go cry about it" attempt to get a reaction. Secondly, she apparently gets so offended and defensive that I think she actually makes herself believe some of the tripe she spews. I'm sure there's a bit of troll in her behavior, but it's more of a cry for attention of any type than anything else.

It must really suck so badly to be someone who's self-worth hinges on being someone who matters to random people on twitter and have to look in the mirror every day and realize that the person looking back at you only gets attention because they constantly metaphorically throw their toys out of the crib during tantrums.

Wu's mindset about Paragon shepard is baffling to me. How can you look at two people who saved the world, where one commited multiple acts of genocide and the other didn't, and call the one who didn't wipe out most races "evil"?

Looking through her PSN it seems like she's played Drakengard 3. For those who aren't familiar the Drakengard games often parody typical video game protagonist archetypes. In 3 the protagonist, Zero is quite vulgar and violent. The point of her character is that she's not really supposed to be a good guy. She burns defenceless troops alive, kills her sisters and takes their husbands as sex trophies. Hell, the only thing that makes her better than the Drakengard 1 protagonist is that there's no level dedicated to gleefully killing children.

Given her opinions on Renegade and Paragon Shep I would be really interested to see her opinion on Zero. I honestly think that she'd see Zero as a role model and a good representation of a female hero. She outright calls someone who avoids wiping out entire races as "evil". So who knows where the line is drawn.

Living as John Flynt must have been a personal hell for her, that much I don't doubt. People treated her like an idiot creep and she couldn't blame it on sexism. Yet her massive ego couldn't rationalize it, she couldn't tie her lack of success to her own actions. I suppose it's the aspergers undercurrent of every lolcow.

Claiming to be a software engineer because you are using Unreal Engine to make a game is not far removed from claiming that you are a software engineer because you use MS Paint to draw stick figures.

If you want to use the term in the loosest manner possible, it TECHNICALLY fits since Wu is essentially compiling an Unreal project into an independent software package for release, which does create another piece of software, but that's only if you water down the definition to something that could easily apply to anyone who has used ANY game engine or any source code compiler program, which means Wu is not special by any definition.

As in, writing software code from the ground up, then no, Flynt is a pretentious jackass trying to sound important by falsely claiming that title to look more important than he is, and what he is doing only vaguely qualifies assuming he wrote most of his game code, which we know for a fact he didn't.

True, but her ego is massive and she has no filter. I think she's going to slip up and throw out there some line about her being this incredible investigative journalist or how she's an elite engineer. And then there's her public speaking events where I think she gets so drunk off the attention that she will end up saying all sorts of dumb shit.

I think Wu also got another problem: She only has only one story to tell, only one set of characters she works with.
Characters like Holiday and Minuete are 'following' her since her Soccon days. They made some transformations over the years, but like Chris there don't seem any other ideas in her. Rev 60 is her Sonichu, her personal wish fulfillment. Even if she makes another game at some point, it will be either Revolution 69 or the same characters in another setting, which means that every game after Rev 60 will ultimately fail.
