The stance was "if the name of X person is in a public document then it can be posted", for example in the past saying the true name of Zoe Quinn got you banned from KiA, but since the documents of her trial are public and her name is plastered on them then is not dox, so you can post it, tl;dr if is public information is not dox and you can post it

Anyone with access to Lexis can quickly determine that Brianna Walker Wu was born in July of 1977 according to voter registration information from both Colorado and Massachusetts. Records from Mississippi show the same birth month and year for John Walker Flynt.
Anyone who actually has a degree in "investigative journalism" would know that falsifying your age is really stupid when so many government records are available online.
It's also interesting that Lexis searches for John Walker Flynt pull up results for Frank Wu, indicating that there is some type of close personal or financial relationship between the two.
Does Wu deny having been Flynt for "deadnaming" reasons, or is she simply attempting to distance herself from his crazed behavior? This puzzles me, especially since Flynt's crazed behavior doesn't seem to hold a candle to what she has done as Brianna Wu.
Nobody's come up with a clear answer for that.
Theory 1: Wu doesn't want people to look into Flynt because of normal tranny reasons.
This is my opinion until we get more information. A lot of Wu's kind became trannies because of self-image issues in the hopes of starting a new, happier life. They really hate to be reminded of "who they used to be" because it can dredge up the personal problem that caused them to go into transexuality in the first place.
Theory 2: Wu doesn't want people to know that she used to be rich, white, AND a man, which are the three things SJWs hate more than anything.
Theory 3: John Flynt has a secret we don't know about already, and Wu REALLY wants to keep that information buried.

Personally I think she just doesn't want to be outed because she has made herself infamous in the trans community. Back when she was actually open about it, she constantly said shit that was often downright retarded and offended almost every other trans person that saw it. She probably insists that she's actually Cis because she doesn't want the shit she said/did as John Flynt and early Brianna to get out.
Though I doubt she actually realized why everything she did back then makes her a horrible person and simply lies about it because she sees no reason not to convince everyone she's a natural woman because there's no reason not to.

The funny thing is that most of John Flynt's history is important purely because it establishes Brianna Wu as a liar. She tried to revise her own history whenever it'd help her arguments on twitter. People dug into Wu's academic history because Wu was the one who couldn't keep her story straight. If Brianna hadn't claimed she had a degree in order to seem like she had clout in her twitter debates then nobody would have cared. The same thing with Wu claiming to be adopted.
If Wu had been honest about her past and just said "Yeah, I did some stupid things in my youth as John Flynt" then she would probably have a shitload more people feeling sympathetic towards her. The problem is the past knocks the wind out of the image she's been poorly trying to cultivate for the last several years.

The first rule of living by fraud is always moving before your stink catches you. Change your name, your idea, change what you're trying to fob off on people, stay ahead of your own cheated customers, your own past misdeeds, and the long arm of the law.
I think that Brianna Wu is fundamentally IS a hardened conartist, that the money she solicits from the gullible and the unwary that think they're supporting a noble cause (and I'll tell you, any political ideology is going to have positives--SJWs as well). In the brave new world of Wayback Machines and and TweetSavers, it takes a lot to hide from yourself, particularly when your type of Con is pushing the same crappy characters over and over again with no freaking reason to like them.
Brianna Wu has had at least three rounds of this sort of conartistry. Variations of it have likely been going since John Flynt lived with his parents and managed to get a large amount of money out of them. Between at least three stints at college, a drug addiction, political campaigning, Flynt's relationship with his family has probably collapsed because Flynt himself has abused their trust, if not shown that he outright lacks morality. They've thrown in 200k according to Wu herself, but $400,000 is the figure I've seen on here before.
The Flynt family means jack to Brianna Wu. They're cut off. She has no connection to his family. What better way to conceal John Flynt entirely?
This has also happened a second time, with Moderator Brianna Wu of Susan's Place. A place where Wu decided to advocate (Commit [?]) rape by deception. She was controversial until she was sacked entirely from the website--but the positions taken here are, again, entirely indefensible from an SJW point of view. That blog post from 2008 also includes a request for donations for some kind of unspecified medical problem that was probably SRS but was claimed to be a Urinary Tract Infection. She was doing this for the money, ONCE AGAIN.
If I understand Gender Dysphoria, there is an underlying need to be the "Correct Gender". Being 'transgender' is much less important than being able to be the intended gender. Throw in that Wu sees no reason to explain that she's not a natural woman, and this is something else to burn. Brianna Wu isn't transgender, she's a woman from birth and so there's no reason at all to bring up Rape by Deception Advocacy. Transgender is burned away, and with it, that previous abuse.
We're either on or watching the possible endgame of the third go-around, one where Brianna Wu is able to parlay her moral flexibility into trying to champion causes that she doesn't believe in. Thanks to unrelated events that she was able to seize, she was able to portray herself as a victim. She's made one game with a bloated budget, archaic graphics and a deadweight loss, and so has managed to claim a seat in an industry she doesn't really understand. She's ruthless enough to screw over her workers, kill her own dog, and go full DMCA to promote herself, and in the face of a now fading issue, she had her 15 minutes of fame. Perhaps, even, making it to something like a "C-Lister" for a couple of fleeting months.

Brianna Wu has come apart for that reason, and the heady days of her own Twithead Army are behind her now. Her Patreon is down something like 35% from its peak, and without the Army, the bottom is probably falling out. Its possible that she's had a circle going, paying part of her own Patreon, to give the appearance that a lot of people care when they don't. If that's the case, that 35% could be even more significant.

#1: This isn't an unfair starting point. Gender Dysphoria is a pretty lethal disorder if untreated, although most people want to keep their friends and families after they transition. The LACK of those concerns makes it a lot easier to do a clean break, as Wu has done.
#2: I have to doubt this a bit. Brianna Wu broke those on her own--but I think the SJWs basically fall into high information guys that are actually trying to address economic and wealth issues in the United States and low information guys that bellyfeel their way to supporting whatever loud girl is saying. The part where Brianna Wu is rich (flying around the country, has a motorcycle, etc) seems easy enough to draw.
#3: It is plausible that Brianna Wu might have done something like Rape by Deception. She can't have been charged with a crime, at a minimum, but she could have done something illegal. I don't see this as likely, as Wu would likely blab if she had "Gotten away with something", but its an interesting idea.

This doesn't really address Brianna Wu's mistreatment of Crash, her horrible style in actually running a company, or the giant pile of issues she's added onto this. I think Wu is potentially criminal, and lying more a means than an end.
Shame is a positive quality that I actually think Brianna Wu lacks or is at best deficient on. She's ashamed of taking her families money and cutting them off? No, she continues to lie about that to this day. She's ashamed of being a fake or a phony? She lives that lie, and if there is any justice, she will face a life sentence of being no-sold on social media. Brianna Wu is legitimately concerned about being found to be a fraud or a liar as soon AS SOON AS ITS DISCOVERED, but not the act itself.
I think there is something to Minuete and Holiday being characters of Wu's for years. Unlike Chris, I think Wu has made his characters distant enough from their Anime source to claim original ownership. Wu, though, needs Revolution 60 as a basic chip to even play at the table of Game Developers. I think the reverse--that Wu at heart lacks the passion and the will to create a working team and make a good game--is much more likely. Revolution 60 is cliche, has been done before in a lot of more interesting ways, but there's more substance to it than there is to nearly anything else about Wu.
I think Brianna Wu is vastly more greedy and exploitative than is commonly thrown around here. She's willing to do an awful lot for money. If she could pull the plug on social media, give up on Patreon and actually be the housewife she basically is, she wouldn't. She has that choice every day, and no matter how disgusting her lies, or even going out and speaking on stage to a live audience--she could stop. She won't until the money's gone.

No, but it explains why Wu's is more sensitive about her history as John Walker Flynt. If Flynt's history is exposed then Brianna Wu's claims about her past are proven as bullshit. For a long time Brianna Wu's biggest strength was that nobody really had anything concrete on her past. Yes, we all knew she was John Flynt and it was obvious she routinely lied out her ass but she could still make claims about her history and nobody could definitively prove them wrong until long after the fact. She cherry picks and then distorts things from her past to use in articles, tweets, and even her speeches. It's the framework for "Brianna Wu, game developer and woman in tech". While not as disturbing as some of her recent actions those lies are still very connected to the image she's tried (and failed) to build.

They pull this switcheroo a lot. Criticising a feminist is conflated with attacking all women. When they say "women", they mean some nebulous group that simultaneously means all women, no individual women, or women with a specific viewpoint or victimhood status. This changes (often retroactively) depending on the situation.
The Dawkins situation comes down to "How dare he point out there are psycho radicals in the feminist movement! I'm going to prove him wrong by acting like a psycho!"

I've found many of those most obsessed with the "deadnaming" thing have some reason other than just being trans for it.
If you have legitimate qualifications, nobody gives a shit whether you obtained them while possessing a dick. By comparison, John "Sand Nigger" Walker "Fat Dyke" Flynt not only did and said reprehensible things as John, but failed to do lots of things Brianna Wu now claims to have done. Like having a degree of any sort.
