While I'm sure that the a̶l̶l̶ ̶w̶h̶i̶t̶e̶ racially diverse (but still totally sexist) awards lineup annoys Wu, I expect that there is a larger amount of butthurt caused by the fact that as far as I can tell she failed to get any of the 3 panels that she wanted to be on approved for the SXSW 2016 lineup.
Even better, there are 2 separate panels specifically addressing diversity in tech that got greenlighted instead of Wu's. I'm not sure why they apparently think that a "Global Dir of Diversity" for Facebook or a "Software Engineer" from Pintrest would be more qualified to speak about diversity in tech than someone who will surely be finishing the port of their game featuring a r̶a̶c̶i̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶d̶i̶v̶e̶r̶s̶e̶ all white cast (and all female...still totally sexist) any time now, but...

3) He's fucking Angry Joe. His Youtube channel has 2.3 million subscribers. Granted I'm not a huge fan of his work (the costumes and long diatribes don't do it for me but it's cool if you like it), but I can deny his prevalence. Only a fucking idiot, especially one claiming to be some teach and gaming expert, would be so fucking dense not to at least heard of Angry Joe. But then again, I bet she has and she's backpedaling like she always does.
I doubt he will, but if Markiplier, half-Korean, with his 11 million subscriber fanbase called her on her shit, that would be GLORIOUS.

When it comes to SRS it normally takes 6-8 weeks to recover enough to do something like a desk job. Some people report 12 weeks, interestingly enough. It's a VERY painful experience and would have put Wu in a wheelchair for a few weeks, which is close to the recovery time that was mentioned in LJ. These are estimates you can find in pretty much any forum thing discussing SRS. I'm not really familiar with the thing Wu is claiming to have had done on, but since it's clearly bullshit I don't really care. Since this was 2008, the location of the surgery matters. If she did it in Murica, then she'd have needed to be diagnosed with Gender Identity Disorder and have 12 months of trannyhood under her belt from what I remember.

Either way, it means she's flat out admitting she has no idea what she's talking about, but chose to tweet about it anyway. "I wasn't aware of your work" means she has no clue about the medium, due to his prevalence, and couldn't suggest someone specific outside of 'moar women." And "not aware you were Hispanic," is just mind-blowingly stupid since even if that picture "looks white," you can't hear the guy talk for even ten seconds without it being obvious.
I'll say it again. Of all the options, she literally picked the worst, most-obvious one to undermine her point.
