In less than a year Twitter went from the biggest social networking site to #4 and in danger of being Digg Version 2.Fun.

Worse than Digg because there were plenty of competitors for what are basically link-rating sites.

Twitter has been sold as the one site you go to when you want to contact basically everyone in the world on the Internet interested in some specific thing. There's nothing else remotely similar yet, since while you can set up a similar platform, without the enormous userbase it's meaningless.

Somehow they bungled that.

Wu is a tiny but significant part of that.

You would think people would look at online community history and see places like Somethingawful, Digg, Gawkers non-stop suits coming in, Reddit's Pao rage - Etc. and be like "You know, maybe this whole super "progressive" agenda pushing and zealous rule enforcement isn't a good idea for our income."
