While certainly possible you need to keep in mind that Wu is lying about so many things that nothing that is said can be taken at face value.

Shit, Wu's lying about having been born a man!

Certainly I don't take anything she says at face value, but everything I've read about her education has been so weaselly that it makes me think there is something more than just a failure to finish college. To give an example, her ego page says "By 26, she left DC disgusted — and decided to finish her undergraduate degree at the University of Mississippi". It doesn't say that she actually finished it, or that she finished it at U of M, just that she decided to.
She certainly isn't shy about admitting to dropping out of college the first time, and I think she would be plenty willing to spin the second dropout into a story of entrepreneurial gung ho, but she doesn't. The fact that she clearly states she has the journalism degree and worked in that field after graduating points to something like that actually happening. There is just no point in mentioning it otherwise, even as a fictional backdrop. There are so many better lies to tell.
Of course, I could be wrong, and she made that lie back when she had dreams of being the next Barbara Walters, and is now stuck with it. My guess though is that she has some easy degree from a shameful school, like something you would see on late night infomercials.

If Johnny boy keeps trying to DELETE FUCKING EVERYTHING on Twitter, we will probably end up with a hashtag mocking him, i want this to happen.

I kind of think there's a story there with her initial choice of major, computer engineering. Brianna has never really shown any interest or aptitude in computer technology beyond the most superficial. She's also shit at math from what we've seen on the few occasions she decides to try and prove she has geek cred.

As for the journalism thing, I believe you aren't too far off in your assumption there. Brianna's only real interest has been to essentially make money being Brianna Wu. She wants to be a celebrity and journalism was going to be her platform to the stardom she craves. Fortunately for us, her dazzling incompetence has saved us from such a horrible fate.

Without a doubt, gaming and tech are a vehicle for her ambitions just the same way it has been for her fellow professional victims. She has no track record of working in either gaming or tech. Well, someone mentioned she had worked in GameStop, which is to working in gaming what a paper round is to international logistics. This is why she is the King Midas of turning everything to shit. She enters a field with neither passion nor ability, except in playing the victim card, and that narrative has long been crumbling about her ears. If she has a talent, it is her ability to separate idiots from their money, and I'd rather sleep soundly at night than develop such skills.

I would guess that Wu actually does have a degree. Certainly not from U of M or Milsaps, but maybe from a less reputable institution and maybe not a bachelor degree. An associate degree from a community college or online school would be easy enough for Wu.
Wu seems like she doesn't want to outright lie about many things, instead opting to dance around the issue and lie by implication and omission.
I'm reminded of an early episode of American Dad where Francine gets a degree from some shady internet site and becomes a back-alley surgeon.

"This degree is printed on the back of a Chinese takeout menu!"

Then again, she can dismiss it more easily as Voat is Voat. What it matters to her is where is published.

Point. On the other hand, the more places it's available the higher it rises in the search engines. And once all the journalists we leaked it to publish it, he'll be impotent to do a damn thing about it even where he otherwise would have power to try burning evidence.

This is my take on Wu in general as well, but you have to remember that despite the fact that she's good at hedging her bets in lies, she lies so often that she has to slip up on occasion. For example, the Natalie O'Brien lie was actually well thought-out, I think - except that Wu gave the character a name that could be investigated and said that she was pregnant, which gave us dots to connect if we actually did find a Natalie O'Brien.

One lie is easy to tell but going on and on about a lie requires giving up details that will eventually make it clear that you're bullshitting.

Not to mention that it's a social media account manager with absolutely no social media presence. Further proof of Brianna doesn't understand how the professional world works.

Because "moar particles and lens flare" is the cornerstone of good visual design.
You know, I take it back. Wu is attempting to slap absurdly overdone graphical shit onto a mediocre, unoriginal experience and pass it off as a goddamn masterpiece. She's absolutely AAA game designer material. Ubisoft would be proud.

More proof the game is nowhere close to being done.

How often has the ME series been played through by Wu during the making of Rev60? I played the series twice and a half I think. One time in a sort of marathon, stretched over 3 days, and it was fucking exhausting and time consuming!

You can't get any work done when playing those games...
