Once again Wu talks about something and has nothing to back up the "scientific facts" thrown into the ring. Even though by admission that she knows addiction.

Chance to relapse after 5 years is less than 15%, not ~90%.

And who are you to talk shit about AA? You said yourself you went into rehabt for Ambien addiction. Rehab, which, by your own words "not everyone can afford". You god damned privileged shitlord.

And yes, "once an addict always an addict" holds truth. It's part of the recovery process to realize that you are more susceptible to relapse because of your history with addiction. Thinking that you're cured from your dependency as if by magic is all well and good but won't do you any good in the long run.

Relapse rates are not fixed though and depend on what you're addicted to.

Flynt/Wu also seems quite ignorant -- what a surprise -- of the fact that there are secular and even agnostic chapters of Alcoholics Anonymous that do away with the reliance on God entirely. Some of these chapters have been around for decades. And his idiotic contention that AA takes the place of God for many addicts would horrify the people involved in faith-based AA chapters.

But Flynt/Wu never lets reality interfere with the grotesque, counterfactual realm that he calls home, the world in which the beautiful Brianna Wu could have been a fashion model as a teenager, despite the fact that no one on this or any other planet then wanted, now wants, or ever will want to see 270 pounds of John Walker Flynt in lingerie on the cover of Vogue, despite the fact that he possessed an enormous pair of moobs.

Good Gawd.

Every new episode of Isometric is all new levels of cringe and try-hard. This one starts with Wu making an extended "joke" for about the first 10 minutes, concerning the oh-so-hilarious "Church of Briannatology" and how the other Isometric hosts will be her disciples, with various thetan levels, as if this is all some very witty satire of Scientology, which of course, since this is Wu we're talking about, it's anything but.

I'm realizing this is an ongoing theme for Isometric, this idea of Brianna's ego, or cultish behavior, or messianic delusions....as a joke. But it's not funny, because it's not presented with any wit and verve, and also because.....well, it's just a bit too close to the absolute stone-cold truth to be funny.

I wonder why Brianna thinks others would find this funny. If she sees herself as a celebrity, with adoring fans, (excuse me, "fandas" *retch*) does she imagine that a star goofing on about their tyrannical presence is funny? Or is this the true Johnny Flynt's Axl Rose-level ego filtered through Brianna's warped idea of what it means to be a woman?

It's interesting; do you remember in Kill Bill 2, Bill goes on with his metaphor about how Clark Kent is Superman's commentary on the human race, and as such is obviously quite critical, suggesting that he sees the human race as weak, cowardly, etc.? By the same token, Brianna Wu is how John Flynt sees women. This stylized, ultra-touchy little tin-pot dictator, with no work ethic, who constantly mocks their significant other, is how John Flynt thinks the ideal woman should be and act.

Doesn't that really tell you everything to need to know about Brianna Wu? The horror that is Wu.....all the most unpleasant and off-putting parts of her personality, those are the idealized concepts of ultimate, fantasized womanhood to Wu.

I don't know about you lot, but if Brianna Wu's personality is how you see women, I think you're a bigger misogynist than all the goobergrapers put together.

Incidentally, Frank screams his head off at about 6 minutes and 15 seconds in for no discernible reason, and is quickly patronized (of course) by Wu.

Who listens to this show other than the occasional masochistic kiwi? Are there actual, non-ironic Isometric fans? It's all in-jokes and glad-handing. Literally. It's like being a fly-on-the-wall for a group of dorky, wannabe tech-hipster friends having a pow-wow: if you're not part of this group....what's the point? None of these people are particularly verbal, have particularly unique or well-defended opinions, or discuss interesting issues in any way. Half of the games discussed have been played by Wu only, though the podcast is ostensibly about games, so.....? I mean, I know it's an airbrushed handjob for Wu, but wasn't this around before Gamergate? Why? It' s almost self-consciously to pad Wu's resume, such as it is.
This is the first thing that I've ever read here that made me want to kick myself for not realizing it first. I think this is entirely accurate and it's a part of Wu that most non-kiwi people don't seem to be aware of.

Edit: A good counter example is the Commander. The way we all treated Jace, like he was a hero and wonderful and everything he said was right and great, but we were all kidding it was all just a big joke. It's kind of horrifying to realize that Brianna Wu's fans aren't kidding with their adoration.

I think Wu is waning though. If you look at popular SJ youtubers, someone like Laci Green, she frequently gets tens of thousands of retweets and likes on Twitter per post. Compare that to Wu who will get a few hundred or less. Granted Laci has MTV to support her, but Laci only has four times as many twitter followers as Wu while getting an overwhelmingly greater response from her audience. Kiwis vote anyone optimistic who posts that Wu is losing influence but I think it's very true. For someone with 50,000 followers she has very very little Twitter influence. This is why she tries to cut around the normal roads to get to moderators or admin to enforce her views.
I found a new Wu tick: The ultra-fake "HA!" laugh. Literally, she fake-guffaws "HA!" followed by no laughter.
I haven't heard her voice since her interview on HuffPo back in 2014 with HotWheels, and I'd forgotten it. I've read everyone here say that she has the worst non-passing voice, but I figured you all were mostly trolling. I skimmed through that podcast and I kept waiting to hear the obvious trannies voice. Then it occurred to me that I was listening to her the whole time and it was one of the voices I thought was a man. I know its late but holy shit it's really that bad? How the hell does she pass to anyone? How does no one at the speaking events she goes to clue in on it?
I realize that the answers are social justice and autism but it still blows my mind.

I get that vibe too. Especially how she made sure to mention that "always an addict" is bullshit. Kind of a way to say she can still pop pills and "not be addicted to them".

She tries when she has an audience that might call her out on being transgendered. If you listen to her interviews or at speaking events, it's not nearly as bad as it is on Isometric (although it's still sounds like a man trying to raise the pitch of his voice). The Isometric podcasts, while grating, do provide valuable insight on what Brianna is like relaxed and deep in her comfort zone.

Former Vice editor fires some quality shots at John Flynt's turd. It's towards the end, but whole thing is pro-read.

This is so awesome. Like we all know that John is a nepotistic kiss-ass but it's so great when evidence is actively provided and called out. Still not privileged though!

And it's the gorgeous start to the first day of March here on the East Coast - where is the motherfucking game, you tranny shit?

"I don’t understand how we can have Star Trek fans here that seem to have learned so little about the core message of Star Trek. "

And I don't understand how we can have 'leading feminists' that seem to have learned so little about the core message of feminism, but here we are.

This hasn't been nuked yet surprisingly. Wu probably stopped reading the thread once the community manager showed up and he had someone to spam PM's at. If it was one of you guys please stop, randomly showing up and attacking Wu on his threads isn't going to change anyone's mind about him.

Probably not much, but it doesn't matter whether its true or not, all that matters is they won't want a raging tranny accusing them of facilitating harassment or whatever so if John sees it it's gonna be nuked.
I disagree. We cannot allow Wu to find more comfort zones where she is not challenged.

So she'll then go and strap her cred to a wall and have it shot when she says something like FFXIII is the best FF game or that The Third Birthday is the best Parasite Eve game (this statement is haram in Parasite Eve fan communities. If you voice it, prepare to have your shit punched in).
Third Birthday wasnt bad gameplay wise. The story though, was a disaster.

Ah, what a beautiful morning. All is right in the world. My Friday panic that Flynt was going to use his crunch time to get his game out was clearly misplaced.

Just another failure to notch in the ol' belly belt.

No, she's surprisingly fine with that aspect of AA. She says "I've seen AA treat atheists with respect. Your higher power does not have to be a God. For many, AA itself is their higher power."

How the hell does she pass to anyone?
Well, there are a lot of actual women out there who drew the short straw in the genetic lottery, and no one wants to be the one who accidentally accuses a woman of being male. Most people, if they see someone who wears women's clothes and hairstyles, has some sort of breasts, calls themself female, and is called female by other people, they'll just roll with it.

She struggles to breach double-digit likes despite thousands of followers. It's only when her posts get chain-retweeted that she gets presence, especially since she's been de-platformed by her fellow Antis (hilariously). Even among the window-licking retards that are the Anti-GG mainline, she's fucking persona non grata.

She got thrown off Gamerghazi. She will never live that down.

What's funny is that isn't mostly even because of beyond the pale batshit insanity.

It is because Wu has very occasionally said something moderate about capitalism, and things of that nature. "Maybe people shouldn't be murdered just because they have money" is apparently too outré for this crowd.

Good lord Wu, get your shit together, I've got big money riding on this thread's six month poll slot!

In all seriousness, I wonder if she feels a sudden pressure to get the game done because of the sci-fi (sorry, syfy) series she'll be featured in. Not having a product to advertise would be a pretty big missed opportunity.

But even then she's probably just fucking around and making Frank do all the work.
