American actor Giancarlo Esposito has embraced Islam during his stay in Saudi Arabia while filming a new entertainment project, according to reports.

Turki Al-Sheikh, Chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, reportedly revealed that the actor formally embraced Islam after spending time in the Kingdom and working closely with Muslim colleagues during production.

According to Al-Sheikh, Esposito recited the Shahada, the Islamic declaration of faith, and later joined members of the production team in prayer at a mosque.

A video shared on social media reportedly showed the actor praying alongside crew members, drawing widespread attention online.

Al-Sheikh said Esposito’s decision followed a positive personal experience in Saudi Arabia, where he appreciated the hospitality, sense of community and warm reception he received while working on the project.

The development has prompted considerable discussion on social media, particularly among fans who have followed Esposito’s career across film and television over several decades.

Esposito is best known for portraying Gus Fring in the acclaimed television series Breaking Bad and its spin-off Better Call Saul. He has also earned recognition for his performances in The Mandalorian and numerous major Hollywood productions.

The actor is currently in Saudi Arabia working on 7 Dogs, a major production that forms part of the Kingdom’s growing entertainment sector.

Isn't he gay? Well he's at about Zendaya/Pascal levels of fatigue anyway.
He's the exact same guy in every role, which is really bad for an actor. It only works in the rare case where that guy is Literally Me, such as Ryan Gosling for example — doesn't work for a brown gay muslim.

Redditors like him because he portrays one of them:

But as they wish to appear, brownly.

So Mohammad was a slave trader and he bought a slave for 2 black slaves? Kinda sounds like the 'regular' slave was worth 2 black slaves, showing Mohammad thought black slaves were inferior to others. Why would Mohammad think black slaves are bad?
There's black slavery in Islamic countries today. Since Gaddafi was deposed, Libya has had slave markets where they sell blacks. The kafala system in a lot of the gulf states is basically a form of slavery, though they enslave pajeets and Filipinos and other races as well as black people.
