Meh, I remember reading up on the details of that case when it was contemporary and thinking it sounded pretty fucking dumb, and particularly wondered why the hell one would take their kids to meet Don Vito in the first place when one of his 'gimmicks' was to fake grab tits for photo ops and what-not. I'm not sure why they would have assumed that Don Vito had any real money anyway, I doubt he was getting paid much to appear on VLB. The stipulation as part of his penalty that he could no longer portray the Don Vito 'character' was also fucking strange, sort of like being sentenced for a crime and one of the penalties is that you're not allowed to work/do your job anymore. Vito acted dumb on TV but worked as an accountant, in any case I doubt he was dumb enough to actually molest kids in the middle of a public shopping mall during a meet and greet.
It would have been their parents going after the money, sort of like the Michael Jackson cases which are also pretty fucking dubious in retrospect, no matter how many tearful documentaries they make 20 some odd years later. Then again I have a tendency to not trust any of these fucking allegations anymore after a decade of "this actor/musician/politician grabbed my tit in 1972, I know it's 2018 now but it's a big fucking deal, why didn't I go to police when it happened? I was too traumatized!" bullshit from the "MeToo movement." Trouble is now I can't find any of the fucking contemporary articles that went over some of the questionable shit about this incident with Don Vito back then because Google and YouTube search are fucking worthless now.
Fuck I miss when search engines actually fucking worked and didn't spit out endless AI gobbledy gook and SEO keyword slop. Why would Ape mention this now, anyway? Did it recently get rehashed or brought up by someone? I thought everybody pretty much went back to not caring and finding Don Vito funny again, I mean the dude's fucking dead anyway so it doesn't really matter now.
