Here is some superstition for you to ponder over: In the West, 7 is considered a lucky number, but in East Asia, 7 doesn't have any special significance and in fact 4 is considered the most unlucky number. In Chinese and Chinese-influenced languages, the pronunciation of the word for 4 is a homonym for "death", so in many countries over there, buildings skip the 4th floor when numbering them and that kind of thing.
