Maybe this was obvious in the first film too and I didn't think about it because I was a teenager at the time. A lot of the comedy is meant to come from the fact that all these people he interacts with don't react to the racist, misogynistic and wild stuff he says and does as if it's somewhat normal to those people and of course others will see that as reflective of the true America. The thing is, this isn't a hidden camera show. There is very obviously a camera man there filming these scenes, probably a full film crew. Most businesses aren't just going to let people casually film on their property. I do believe a lot of these people are real and not actors, but they also clearly know what is going on to a certain extent so they aren't going to push back on a lot of the stuff he does.

Conclusion: I only watched like 30 minutes of it because I can't take cringe humor in large doses, but this one felt a lot more scripted than the first one, from what I saw. Which doesn't make it bad, but when this one is much more obviously politically motivated it kinda ruins the message with the fakeness.

Última edición:
The last scene honestly stuck out like a sore thumb even compared to the rest of the film, which was at least similar to the original somewhat (except for the whole subplot of "Borat is not le evil nazi anymore").
The rest of the film, for all its flaws, doesn't really compare to outright saying Kazakhstan becomes a woke feminist nation and that "the real enemy was not the jew, but the yankee" complete with a Running of the Yankee (all over an instrumental of the Gummy Bear song, by the way).

Part of me thinks it was put in just to have people not cancel Borat, or as some sort of joke about the woke crowd, but it might be Poe's Law and whatnot.

Why In fuck was this made again? Boring leftist Jokes are the underside of the barrel exhausted at this point, he should've stopped with Bruno honestly, Cohan's Approach to Satire Is so distinctly raunchy 2000s attack on Bush America and should stay that way.

Just saw it, movie isn't funny.
The only scene worth it is Rudy but the other 98% of the film is weak af.
Not american don't care about the politic bias. I like funny movies and this wasn't it.
Did it feel like all the skits were just ripped off of SNL, but somehow even worse? Cuz it really felt like it to me.

There's really nothing memeworthy here, but it might just be my bias.

The only reason people especially on the internet is rejecting this film now is A. The people hes mocking have a much bigger online presence (how many anti-homo, bush loving forums were you on in 2007) B.the people hes mocking have more legitimate gripes (a white trash redneck whining about immigrants and trannies runs this very site) and C. People understand they're been force fed political views. (Jon Stewart actually mocked people back in 200 for calling comedy movies liberal propaganda)

Honestly if the original borat came out today (like it took 13 years to settle all the lawsuits) 1000% people would have the same reaction

I really liked Who Is America because it felt fairly organically funny but this was just fucking lame.

It's like a bunch of Twitter blue-checkmarks got together to write a "comedy" movie for Current Year. Also, it's played off like these are real people interacting with Borat and his daughter but they all have perfect timing on their reactions and they always say the most outrageous thing. Scripted bullshit that isn't even vaguely funny because it's all been done before.

I wouldn't be surprsied if Cohen had fuck all to do with the creative process in this film and just phoned in the character when the Amazon dumptruck of cash showed up along with a completed script for him to read into the camera. He's capable of much better than this shite.

I had no interest in watching this, its a sequel to a 15 year old comedy film made because the actors need work and my experience with them as been they usually stink. I just read the synopsis on The Movie Spoiler. Reading the synopsis says he wears disguises because people recognize him as Borat. It makes me wonder if any of the film were interviews or pranks from Who is America and they strung them together with new Borat footage to make the movie.

Reading the synopsis all I can say is the film is one word: dated. So many of Borats targets and the whole plot of the film centering around COVID are something you're going to forget about in five to ten years. Running of the Jew is always going to be funny because of how offensive and stupid it is. Running of the Yankee is going to be dated in five years because by then no one is going to remember Fauci. Movie could be funny as hell but I have no motivation to see it just because its a late sequel.

Honestly, it's not even that smart

Literally everyone in the film that the characters interact with is really obviously an actor. The only exception is
the Giuliani scene where a very attractive young woman blatantly leads on an old guy for a really shitty "gotcha!" and this is somehow headline news.

After the whole Rudy Giuliani scene ended up being nothing I've noticed the talk for this movie has dropped significantly. A few people are grasping at straws saying it shows how easy some foreign entity could get to Rudy and by proxy to Trump.

I even saw a few people state that they were sad that it wasn't much worse. People legitimately disappointed that someone isn't a sex pest/pedo which is all kinds of fucked up.

Yeah I see people saying "How could these evil people play along with his characters etc." but with the cameras being around and his characters being as absurd as they are people will just play along because it's dumb not because they agree, don't get me wrong there are plenty of whackjobs who take stuff way too far but when you are with a dumb looking guy, doing dumb stuff while he is followed around by a film crew it's clearly not a serious documentary.

Well I was searching and I found it.
