This mindset is absolutely retarded. They're paying for a service which is supposed to be done in a timely, efficient manner. Do they really think standing around waiting 2 whole days is gonna change anything? Not surprising that it came from a boomer, it's a lose-lose situation either way because if you did actually take two days they'd complain about the time it took and still haggle you for less.

Customers who complain about how quick a job was done are the shittiest people.
I've had this. On a quoted job (fixed price) the guy complained that I did it in less time than I'd said it would take. It took me a few moments to realise he was angling for a discount.
I asked, "If it had taken me longer than I said, would you have agreed to pay me more?!"
Boomer: "What? No! It was a quoted job!"

Boomers cant seem to fathom owning a home just to live in it. When the miss and I talk about building a house, every boomer within a 2 mile radius congregates to tell us about resale value and general appeal.
Like nigger i want to LIVE in this place, not make it out of plywood and mexican spit, just to leave someone else holding the bag in 15 years

Helped a girl out a little while ago whose dad died and left her a stamp collection, and I've got some contacts in that world so I said I could help her broker a quick deal and also make a few bucks for myself on it.

She told me she wanted everything done as discreetly as possible and with no receipts. I asked why and she said because her dad has a Boomer Deborah of an ex wife who has been literally stalking her for months demanding to get a cut of everything of her dad's stuff that she sees gets sold.
Of all the things to hate boomers for, of which there are many, how they handle inheritances is right at the top. They will cluck their tongues at the entitlement of those damn kids but they are the first ones to have their grubby paws out to get any kind of inheritance from someone else.

I like the name Deborah for a typical vindictive ex wife. Spends her energy purely on hate, vindictiveness, and pettiness.

They think they earned all of the success they had through hard work, and that younger generation just need to work harder, but fail to comprehend the role that generational macroeconomics play?
This is a foundational difference between Boomers and Millennials.

Boomers generally view the world through individuals. They praise individuals. They rage against individuals. They view politics through the lens of individual people. Why are Boomers known for being cruel or overly generous to employees? Because when things go wrong it was not the company or system that failed, but that particular individual and when things go right that person is their savior. Why do Boomers hyper-focus on Trump? Why do they either praise his every act as a weird Maga bot or hate everything he ever does mindlessly like a weirdo Boomer dem? Because he is an avatar that takes credit for everything or takes blame for everything.

Millennials generally view the world through systems. A Millennial will accept terrible service and assume that the staff are working under an unreasonable conditions. They give workers the benefit of the doubt for burnt bread and tip generously regardless of service based on the idea that they should not punish employees for company mistakes. If you have a shitty experience at a restaurant the restaurant probably just sucks. Millennials hate companies rather than just people. Politically they lean towards focusing on systems. Whether that be rightwing people becoming libertarians obsessed with structural problems or leftists becoming communists championing a complete restructure of society.

Obviously there are people who break these molds, but this is all generally true. A Boomer is obviously smart enough to understand systematic failures, but their first instinct is to lash out at a person. A Millennial understands that an individual can be a screwup, but their first instinct is towards trying to instead try to justify blame for a larger system.

Some annoying boomer wasn't. Happy that I didn't want his shitty subcontracting work and he was angry that I called him a small dicked loser because I'm not going to come and install something on his job and take up the liability. Even though that's not legal. Here's the thing. If I'm not the one originating the contract, I have no interest. In being liable if anything breaks because I cannot ensure that you. As someone else on the job didn't fuck something up.
The man of these boomer GCS. Who do absolutely nothing besides take up 20 to 30% of the profits of every job. Show up maybe once or twice. To get angry that the job's not getting done, that they're being paid to manage but not actually managing.

They will cluck their tongues at the entitlement of those damn kids but they are the first ones to have their grubby paws out to get any kind of inheritance from someone else.
I'm well aware that I'm in the minority here, but I don't think children should receive an inheritance. The inheritance should go to the grandchildren. The logic is simply. By the time your parents die, chances are you will also be old. Ergo, any inheritance you receive from them will just get wasted on toys, vacations, home renovations, or retirement. Conversely, your children will be about to set out on life. Any money they have to start out with early on helps them a great deal. What is trivial pocket change to an adult in their 50's is the world to someone in their early 20's. A mere $10k is enough to cover first month's rent, relocation costs, and house hunting expenses when starting their first job. $30k straight up pays off a newish car.

With the grandchildren first strategy to inheritances, it intentionally leaves out the children who failed to produce any grandchildren. Thereby, the long term interests of the family line are preserved instead of wasted on those already past the age of change.

This theory to inheritances pisses off boomers like nothing else can. The idea that their kids would take preference over them is unthinkable.

I bet these same Boomers will demand you need a college degree for some trivial, low-thought job, because you just do okay…

I would be more empathetic of this position had this generation not decided to gate off the entire job market to only those with degrees.

50 years ago: "Look, the secretary needs a BA in English because otherwise too many people applied for the job. "

Today: "Look, the secretary needs a Ph.D in English because otherwise too many people applied for the job. "

The future (?): "Look, the secretary needs a residency in English because otherwise too many people applied for the job. "

This seems like a joke but yeah, a lot of executive assistants now at my job have masters degrees in English literature, hotel management, etc. Basically just fluff Jew daycare degrees meant for women. The office eye candy often times these days have masters degrees. It’s crazy out there.

I am hoping the whole college mentality dies with Boomers/X. You can tell Zoomers have completely stopped giving a shit about college and that is likely to hold with Alpha. Millennials will be a wild card, but I would have to hope the first gen to get widely fucked by colleges would have enough sense to put any pride away and kill off the degree means super smart mentality.

I think we are in a weird transition phase with college dying out as a result of a new pivot towards more blue-collar work under Trump's manufacturing push. White collar is shitting the bed over A.I. and being too crowded thanks to the previously constrained job market mixed with off-shore hiring. I would hope this sort of corrects things across the board, and college goes back to specific trades like medical.

The internet and the ease of access to basically all knowledge accumulated in human history has killed the need for college.

All college courses use information that you can find online, but they parse it into a curriculum you have to go in debt for. Its a scam. If you want to learn something, you can do it all by yourself for free and probably be all the more skilled and knowledgeable for it.

Really the only use for college now is if you want to go into trade work, so you would go to a technical college to learn hands on experience. Thats it.

The least important part of University are the classes. Undergrad Research, CO-OPs, Student Projects, Student Groups, etc matter far more.
I am a tech manager as an example. I don't care about the classes, I care about what cool shit you did In University.

No, surrendering doctors, lawyers and engineers the Indians is a stupid idea. Just don't go to college for stupid shit.

The only cool thing I've done so far in my engineering course is. The professor had us build a skill model of. A castle and then shoot at it with. Miniaturize. Tabuchets and ballistas, which was pretty fun.
