Apparently stagnating at 350lbs for the past 3 years (then gaining it back) wasn't enough motivation to lose weight:

I think he genuinely got spooked by something recently. I would guess he finally realized that his walking days are coming to an end soon on his recent crash course back to 400. Between being spotted walking with a limp, to the walking stick, I think even he got spooked by the idea of a mobility scooter.

The funny thing is if he makes it out to a con, all he has to do is not eat like an absolute hog and the pounds will start shedding quickly just from him being up and about. But he's not gonna do that. He sees this as some scrimmage before a big game, be "healthy" for a week so he can go and eat like a pig. At least he is slightly more entertaining while out and about, his trivial lies about social eating are some of the funniest.

I love how he took a photo to make it look like he only took a bite and threw the rest away. Then his friend posted a picture showing that "bite" was half of that massive doughnut. But it's not his fault...there's no healthy food in LA. /sneed

I agree with you, but can you (or someone else brave enough and informed on boogie's lore) elaborate on each point with an example(or rather examples)?

Wow you’re right, and on top of that, the new phone he’s using is making him look way worse. It’s magnifying how bad his skin is and how much shit if free roaming in his hair and beard. He was better off with the old camera.
