💰 Grifter Boogie / Boogie2988 / "Francis" / Steven Jason Williams - Fat, Rapidly Declining Divorced "Nice Guy" Middle-Aged Youtuber, Former Edgy Porn Blogger, lied about having cancer and being molested. Cohost of fake drama show "Lolcow Live (LCL)". Just WILL NOT die.

How fucking pathetic is that video? "The best I can do is 350lbs and I'm willing to die early if I can still eat garbage."

It amuses me how passively he says that. Like we're supposed to be impressed by his apathy towards death. I'm sure it's easy to say things like that when you're not in a hospital bed, or laying on the floor gasping for breath. Only someone like him can spin a situation where a person makes bank playing with toys, and has all the emotional support he could ever want, into a something that "ehh, I could take it or leave it."

Boogie "mocked" a hack journalist from Polygon for making an obviously clickbait article about Borderlands 3 (Archive).

Because he can't let himself fall out with the clique, he immediately tried to "make up" for it by promoting an equally hack of a journalist, Jason Schreier (Archive).

People aren't approving of his choice.

Damn I can sense the thirst from here. Don't worry fellow gamers - boogie is here to speak to the man about what the people really want as he, a fellow gamer, is totally on the DL

Call me :optimistic: but I think Boogie will be one of the few cows NOT to go trans. He may decide to live his life as a gay man but won't go full tomgirl.

But what the fuck do I know, he already has tits.

a natural born fencesitter like boogs will probably become "nonbinary" since being a tranny would require choices and effort

pull a peter coffin and hide behind a meaningless label once being a white guy starts getting you into shit

Every Damn Day Fitness weighs in on the current situation (pardon the pun)

Him saying that people should be jailed for offending twans is worrying because Booger always chooses the least controversial position on anything and presents it as a brave statement. This means that he thinks jailing for speech is a popular stance.

It's popular on twitter which boogie does live on these days

I had a conversation with a family member the other day regarding this exact subject. Neither one of us can understand the mentality of those who just refuse to give up junk food in the face of diet-related health problems. Is eating what you like just that much more important than your health?

Can anyone explain it to me?

If I had to guess, it's a combination of two groups. There's fucked-up people who had a shitty childhood and eat as a coping mechanism. They are depressed, but they're too chickenshit to man up and kill themselves so they just eat constantly instead of dealing with their problems. The second group is huge narcissists who might pay lip service to losing weight, but really they can't comprehend not living forever so they just manipulate and whine their way into constant gratification. They usually won't truly understand the situation until the very end when they're actually dying in a hospital bed.

There's significant overlap between the two, and I think the Boogs falls squarely in the middle.

It’s a combination of terrible impulse control and other pre-existing mental issues or behavioral disorders.

To oversimplify this; Humans are very chemical oriented creatures, and we try to seek balance within our weird ambulatory combustion contraptions.

When you over eat or eat high calorie/high fat foods, your body releases chemicals that tell your brain that this is a pleasurable and calming experience.

When a person has pre-existing/comorbid conditions, these people try to seek to balance their internal chemistry and counteract the stress chemicals that their bodies are producing because of anxiety, trauma, depression, etc.
The binge eating acts as something of an opiate, so the behavior becomes addicting and a bad habit is formed.

People have trouble breaking these habits, because they have become used to the behavior of “I’m anxious, I’ll calm myself down by binge eating.” It’s similar to the struggle that people face when trying to give up smoking.

Replacing bad behaviors with good ones takes a lot of willpower and support, and it’s tough for anyone, but Boogie here has created some really horrible logical fallacies that, in his mind, allow him to shirk all personal responsibility.
He wishes this could be done for him somehow, which is why an in-patient setting is probably a really good idea for him.

Yup, well said. It's hard to relate to if you've never had a bad habit or an addiction. If anything, ANYTHING goes wrong, you'll want to run straight back to your vice. Eventually, you'll start feeling like you have anxiety disorders because you're always looking for a reason to indulge in your vice.

And Boogie lives on Twitter. Christ alive, that's the last fucking place you'd wanna go to break a habit and keep your anxiety down. One random anus makes fun of you? TIIIIIIIIIIIME FOR A DONUT! Someone disagrees with you about a vidya? TIIIIIIIME FOR A PIZZA! Oh no, phone battery's low? And the charger is a whole eight feet away? Dominos, make that two chocolate lava crunch cakes.

I think there is also an element of having gone too far. Sometimes people will have such bad health conditions that, even if they put in a tonne of work and lose weight, they may only get another 10 years in a body they still hate, and that's not worth it to them. Or they may have no hope of getting their mobility back. It's like people with terminal cancer smoking. They don't see any point in giving up, any more.

In Boogie's case, he genuinely doesn't know or remember what it's like to weigh any less - EDDF covers this in the video, but he likely doesn't fully realise that his quality of life could be better if he lost another 50-100lbs.
